Sod the weather models and the prozac-infused MOD thread, I'm taking this as my official, Met Office-sponsored ramp!

be interesting to see the updated fax later

the raw ukmo chart for the 1st

top right chart would certainly look feisable

Yep I just squealed at the sleet forecast for Sat night here, lol! I'm just glad to have some lovely seasonal coldness - hats and scarves and no drizzle/rain!

Well, it's certainly looking more odds on that we may see snow that weekend, looking at the models this evening. I'm happy being snowed in with weather minded people, but makes it awkward not being at work the next day. Hope we can all get to MK in the first place.

saturday

i see cold and wintry showers here

more especially anglia way

528 air over us and very cold

3 degrees and a very chilly easterly breeze

PPVO89.gif?31415

sunday

again wintry showers in the south east

cold easterly flow

if only we could get a stronger wind

however only early but i like these

these will move around over the next couple of days

although our block to our east has retreated slightly

it still looks strong

Evening folks,

Cracking run from the CFS today, but with its reliability lately being rather untrustworthy, I'm taking it with a very small pinch of salt.

The uncertainties continue this evening, with no real clear indication of whats going to happen after the weekend. But even the weekend is still open for some doubt. I am keeping a close eye on that small disturbance that is due to move south towards our area Saturday/Sunday night. Would be marginal but seems to be on the right side at the moment. Its hard to draw any sort of conclusion from Saturday onwards at the moment.

Latest fax chart at 120hrs is very good, with a strong High over the Svalbard region which is slowly moving South West over time. I would expect this to help gain some sort of block over Iceland/Greenland over time and if correct, would allow the real cool pool to approach, which there is some very cold heights over that region as I speak.

Keeping a close eye on the stratospheric modelling too, which has led me to keep an eye on the CFS for now...

Hopefully we'll get some agreement soon, otherwise I'll end up with no hair!!!!

SM

Could be a few surprises for sure!

Certainly some time over the weekend before the block folds for us to get wintry showers, perhaps even a dusting if we get lucky in a few places.
