Around 3cm of snow here in Darlington overnight start just after 23:30 last night it didn't turn to rain as some forecasts said it would so we have a nice covering here, now its cloudy with freezing fog the temperatures at 1.6°C

Clear and cold overnight with a moderate to severe frost. Low –4.8c with –8.5c on the grass. At observation, bright, cold and frosty, A layer of broken Stratocumulus is edging in from the SW. Variable cloud through the day, with some good sunny spells also, frost persisting in the shade. The early evening saw further frost developing for a short time under cloud breaks. The frost began to lift by mid evening as cloud thickened bringing outbreaks of light to moderate rain by late evening.

A very changeable day!

It started damp and drizzly before the cloud cleared as the sun rose allowing for sunshine for an hour or so. The Cold Front then swept through bringing an hour of heavy showery rain which stopped soon after 10.00 and since then there's been unbroken, sometimes hazy, sunshine.

The temperature rose overnight to reach 9.4c before the Cold Front and it's now dropped back to 7.6c with a fresh WNW breeze!
