Thanks for the map Jezzer

No probs, perhaps this is slightly more along the lines that Steve suggested. Hope people to the west of the line don't feel all hope is lost as it certainly isn't. As with snow events it comes down to tracking the radar and watching the good old lamp posts. I think by the end of the week the majority in this region should be happy. Certainly after last month's mild conditions. :)

Dont belive everything you see.

Radar shows something falling out of the sky...BUT all I can see are stars

Maybe it's them that are falling?

Quite funny this - when I am on the German websites the question is usually where in France does the rain turn to snow. Amazing the difference a couple of hundred miles of land makes to winter chances.

I think that this site should have some Kudos System based on forecasting ability, meteorology qualifications/experinence and a league table of who calls it right and who hasn't a clue with high mis-predictions.

Some people here are clearly very knowledgable, but some haven't got a foggiest clue about what they are preaching and I fear that some people hang on the wrong peoples predictions (guess)

If industry experts are unsure about what is going to happen, it's for a reason.....it's unsure what's going to happen.

Oxford-

Reading-

Basingstoke-

across down to

Worthing in that sort of line-

Last one-

this is the area/ line where the WBPT becomes marginal- slightly above freezing if you will so the there will be a transition the further west you go from snow to sleet to poss rain - that transition zone is probably 50-75 miles -

so for example reading may have snow- Newbury may have sleet-

Along my line it may be snow falling but still melting on the ground ( EXC the downs etc)-

IRRESPECTIVE OF ALL FAX & MODELS we will not know until around T6 when we see the track & intensity of the band.,.

I fully expect to see +80% of the region get snow cover its just the 20% of the western fringes that are a risk-

S

Suggest this should be referred to as the "Steve Murr Line" and as changes occur between now and Monday, maybe contributors could say left a bit etc.
