Met Office really need a kick up their backsides at times, being public funded you'd have thought with the millions flowing in they'd at least have back-ups, and back-ups of back-ups for when anything goes wrong especially at times like this evening. You can bet the BBC won't be mentioning this failure on the back of whatever snow reporting comes out.

Coming down now, just coming home on the motorway was a nightmare. Think the council have been caught out :p

well looking at it, it intensified, not saying its' going to last very long, but I imagine a couple cm from it ..you never know

and if you look at its track, there is a fair bit of snow

its got a hell of a westward swing on it from what i can see right now

We'll be in for a snowy night that's for sure, mainly light though.

Has been coming down steadily for past 2 hours, Council seems well prepared, have seen the gritters a good few times, so roads should be clear come tomorrow

The source in the North sea on the radar is going north very quick, won't be around that long at this rate.

They all use the same data - 15 minute ones are usually free. 5 minute ones with enhanced features are usually paid for and plot at a smaller interval between intensities. If the METO feed is down none of them will work.

Ive got a feeling it will slow down though and we may be far enough north to benefit, i am basing this on nae/gfs ppn forecasts.
