Ok for the more knowledgeable in here. Why is there NO precipitation here at all yet it re-forms to the east of me.And i mean none.

Theres a blizzard here so it will be with you anytime, looks like we're into the good stuff now on the radar.

This is as close to a blizzard as I've seen in Years.

Can anyone explain this pls, I have a temp of -0.6C, a DP of -3.8C, but it is definitely raining. I had to go outside to make sure, even asked the wife to confirm it because I doubted my own eyes, but it's true.

Very Snowy here at half your altitude, very strange weather.

Still snowing steadily and the road outside is now white-over although you can just about see the road markings. I would estimate close on a cm at the mo and still pretty windy.

Have not checked the radar - will do that when I have finished doing some spreadsheet work.

Looks like the cold spell will go out with a bang. It was fun though although there maybe some in here who remember me saying we were on the verge of something historical before it all began. I'll have to eat humble pie on that one but there is still hope for the winter as a whole.

If it is they'll be plenty of ice on the pavements. Warm sector above the ground.

Getting heavier here too

Good to hear. I rely on you, cheese rice and someone else (can't remember 'cause of the beer). Drowning my sorrows as I'm in snowless Italy atm.

Can confirm that lower down here on the other side of Huddersfield it is sleeting and has been for a while. The warmer air from the SW has certainly made it into these parts and if it's not snowing up on Scapegoat there is no chance of it snowing here.

I seem to recall reading something about that, warmer air aloft, colder air lower down, but I didn't think 500-700 ft could really make that much difference. God it can't be often that elevation is your enemy in a potential snow scenario !

Snow heavy again here in Rotherham.

Some very strange reports on north west thread.

Seems to be more Snow to western side while some places to east are reporting rain. fool.gif

Mega hail now.

5-6 miles away and its the closest i've seen to a blizzard for years, weird.

probably upto an inch now. coming down by the bucketload, with he really big pieces just floating along with the wind. wouldn't rule out 10cms+ if this carries on.

Places further south and west have snow, perhaps a rogue mild sector..
