Somebody I work with said there was snow in weston early Saturday morning around 3-4am. Enough for a light covering. All gone by daylight hours though.

But we always miss out down here & hardly got any in January, so I retain the right to moan blum.gif

I can see your pain, had to pop to Portsmouth the day after the snow had fallen... there was hardly anything left?! I got back home to Havant and it was around 10cm deep and still sitting on most roads...

Really does show how close these setups can be down here in the coast!

We had a few hours of snow in Warminster from 11.30-13.30, moderate to begin with then very heavy big flakes which settled quickly.

Unfortunately just as it was getting very interesting the snow eased off to flurries/sleet and everything melted! In its' wake the afternoon has been damp with occasional sleety flurries.

No hint of brightness since Friday!

This is what we had earlier for an hour ..

Nothing settled though.

Is that not just typical, I go away for a couple of days and it decides "then" is the time to snow!

Well took the horse out this avo near Newbury and it was still snowing albeit wet and not settling . Have to admit the sky is a better indicator of forthcoming snow than the radar. You so can tell the difference between the heavy grey and the heavy grey pink clouds and that snow is coming .. And sure enough... snow . Why though does it turn that pinky grey for snow? What is the technical reason? Moisture n light refraction ?

Been better then some. I'm sure there were times we had no laying snow for a couple of Years about 10 Years ado and I note I spent nearly 10 Years for a decent fall since 96.

Yes utter pants to be honest with a real lack of frost and penetrating cold.

My meto app has downgraded my light snow for tuesday now and just has cloudy and cold before rain on wednesday. bad.gif

IMBY I think its been second worst for cold and snow as well as frost for ten years.
