I suspect that just like last night, some areas have the possibility of a covering of snow tonight.

The NAE model did very well with Friday's rain shadow over the Manchester area.

It is predicting snowfall quite extensively over the next 24 hours but only light.

Clear skies here now and the temperatures are dropping like a stone. 0C right now.

Winds just died down and I expect widespread frost tonight. Any bits of last friday's snow will become hard and crusty tonight. The bit of snow that were in the shade hadn't melted one bit at all here.

The showers here are petering out because there is no source of energy (the sun) to continue. So the snow showers will be confined to east of the pennines, if not the eastern coast of England.

When the totals over a 24hr period are 0mm, it's not even worth a mention really, it'll most likely be intermittent light flurries throughout the evening tonight with much of the energy being sucked away by the Pennines now that the flow has slackened.

The flakes aren't melting on contact so anything we see tonight will lay readily

Dying out though as it crosses over, if the winds were stronger maybe some would get over.

Certainly pepping up and I have seen surprise snowfalls for parts of Manchester from these type of set ups - the Pennines should cut off the showers but sometimes they seem to penetrate west as if they weren't there in a Northeasterly flow.

Can't amount to much surely? Impressed though, nice flakes, a bit more intensity would give a dusting.

Dusting looks likely as it's looking like a constant stream from the east for a few hours.

There is no intensity though, just well spread out flakes. The radar I'm using however now does look an unbroken spell of snow for the rest of the night, shame it couldn't be a tad heavier.
