This rain is very intense and at the moment this is under yellow on the radar :shock:

It will be really bad later when the red part spreads further inland :!:

I'm awaiting the top of this front that was just over the mersey an hour ago to pass over me. Just about to check the clouds to the south for an indication before the radar updates in 10 mins.

That rain band is set to arrive in Lancaster at 8:00 to 8:30pm, judging by the radar.

Er... that's a few hours earlier than expected!

Then again, whereas on Tyneside, bands of rain tend to give a lot of warning before they come over, in Lancaster they just come without warning!

doubt it although theres a few of these insects which appear to be whats been described to me as thunderbugs on the irc weather chatroom about. However, no chance of thunder up here unless fred elliot burps.

I've heard some Thunder could be imbedded in some areas. Although i am only quoting another post. Cant remember who's, but good to see ya MCS

My Strike Alert is picking detecting strikes 24-40 miles and 12-24 miles

There certainly could be embedded thunder storms in the main area of rain as it tracks across England, the latest radar shows the rain intensifying some what.

Well i am still getting the very occasional strike on detector 24-40 mile radius,still very light rain,slightly windy....Thought it would have livened up by now here :?
