Friend popped in For a couple of Hours they had a frost .Down the  hill near GIBBY......  Here on  the Hillcrest in P.S.J. .   4.1c. Broken cloud...

The snow icon has appeared on my station, it means 'snow likely' I'd call that fairly accurate seeing as the station can't tell the difference between hail and sleet. :winky:

I really think these showers might fall as snow today if I could just get one to hit Posted Image

Happy Christmas everyone. Some active showers out there. It's a pity the cold air inland kills them quite quickly after making landfall. Certainly cold enough for a little bit of wintriness almost at any level. I have noticed that the ingress inland of these showers has increased over the last couple of hours. You never know there could be a late surprise for a few places after dark.

Do hope your right gibby I've been watching them die all afternoon I think snow is very possible if it could just reach Mendip.

In the midst of a cracking downpour, torrential rain, hail, sleet. Roads are like rivers! Up to 13.2mm for the day and going up fast.

Sleet here in the Forest just now . telltale bits of ice hitting the windscreen as the flake splats..far as im concerned thats a white xmas...:-)

Hope you all had a great Christmas. I'm in Florida for The hols and am gutted to have missed a "White Christmas".

It has been 80-85oC here all week, not my idea of fun but the rest of the family are loving it!!!

A proper white air frost this morning with -0.5c the min and pretty icy too! I wasn't expecting such a downpour yesterday evening! 

NW Radar precip type showing freezing rain showers over Somerset in the last several hours, any reports as to the accuracy of that or has there been snow?

0.3c. With a frost and icy ground level birdbath. Still frost on bungalow rooftops. Now 1.8c..with a light breeze westerly 1.1 km/h.
