Little bit of a snowy covering here, looking out towards Caradon Hill (Bodmin Moor) there is a decent looking covering aswell. Bit surprised to see this, but at least we've had something :)

Looks like we might have had the lightest of wet snow shower in early hours. Our flat roof extension has a white icy deposit on it.

I hope we don't have another let down with the winds today like yesterday as I would have thought it would be more windy then it is now with 50-70mph gusts forecast.

It doesn't look very stormy outside, in fact its quite sunny.Posted Image

Brace yourself Ben and as I know you love this particular type of active weather, it will come and there is also much more on offer as we head into the middle part of next week too. The strongest gusts of wind and most damaging ones at that, will be as the showers move in, my eyes are drawn to the SW approaches right now, and that mass of rain over Wales too.

All calm here at the moment and 8C

24mm of rain fell up to midnight last night, that brought the January total to 284mm. Slightly moist!

Another 3.8mm has fallen today, nothing like closing a wet month by opening one too. :)

Winds picking up out of no where now with a 35mph gust recorded allready on the house.

I don't know why anyone was even talking about yesterday for winds, we have allready surpassed anything from yesterday which was just breezy when there was suppose to be 40-50mph gusts.

I hope that's a typo. Posted Image Posted Image  even 24mm is far too much for those flooded areas to endure currently. Perhaps we can hope for only 24mm over the course of Spring and Summer, coinciding with dry type Thunderstorms, yes sir please!

If we get even 3 weeks of dry weather this year they will start banging on about water shortages!

That really is incredible and just shows how bad winter has been! I can't believe your station has recorded just 4 hours of air frost all winter! Posted Image
