Yes David looking at the forecast the CET looks like it reached its peak at 12.6. I will be over this month now barring a heatwave suddenly appearing on tomorrow's chart for next week!

With a minimum today of 7.8C and maxima likely to reach the low 15s, we should remain on 12.5C on tomorrows update.

After that, the 06z GFS has the CET at

12.4C to the 26th (10.4)

12.3C to the 27th (11.2)

12.3C to the 28th (11.0)

12.3C to the 29th (13.1)

12.4C to the 30th (14.3)

12.4C to the 31st (14.0)

Here's the rolling CET graph

And the current anomalies

1801-2000: +1.6C
1901-2000: +1.5C
1961-1990: +1.6C
1981-2010: +1.1C

Just a tad too high, you could be very close though :)

Yes, could be very close.  Since November, I have been too low with my guesses, so being too high would make a change!

Maxima this month have been preety average here, and at time a bit below, today and yesterday for example, however, once again it has been the consistently high minima which is helping to keep the mean appreciably above average - the CET value for this month therefore in my view won't reflect the fact that it has been a very average month in feel, also the CET value is often not very representative of conditions north of line from say Morecambe Bay to The Tees, it would be good to see the Scottish mean temperature for comparison and some balance.

12.4c to the 29th

1.4c above the 61 to 90 average

Global Warming over on TWO is expecting a final figure of about 12.23C

Early figures suggest this will be the third warmest spring on record

Should end up with 12.2 here and and Spring average of 9.9C which will be the third joint warmest with 1990 and 1997

Sunny Sheffield finishes at 12.2C rounded up. Unless we have a heat wave over night that is.

Would be good to see the average maxima and minima for the month. I suspect the warmth has been attributed to the mild minima rather than mild maxima.

Well for Sunny Sheffield using the 81 - 00 averages. Day times was below average just while overnight temps were well above normal. Just sneaked in at +0.4C above average.
