Had some thunder and lightning last night at home apparently, and got a text saying 'Ooh loud' meaning loud thunder a short while ago at home. I bet they get more this evening too while nothing happens here in Egham, I tend to miss much more interesting events at home than I see up here..

Me and a friend are contemplating chasing tomorrow though.. so hopefully will see something!. but the latest GFS pushes it north quicker! and possibly out of our range quicker.. not liking that at all. Seems to always be pushed away from the SE or where ever I am

Looking like it will be a dry day here after all.  Never mind.

Clear blue skies and 20c with a dewpoint of 14c. It is looking good for my area this afternoon now if the latest met office precipitation forecast is to be believed for this afternoon.

Although my weather station is reading at 23.6 c it's absolutely scorching out there. I saw some Altocumulus Castellanus but this was towards the hills to my East. Somewhere and someone is going to strike lucky at some point. There's nothing more exciting then a thunderstorm to occur after a lovely hot scorching day. I have my fingers crossed still Lol.

Conditions really do look wonderful today, like 1990's old school setup.  South West up it Wales/West Midlands could have a noisy evening,.

Can hear the odd distant rumble from that cell crawling towards Cumbria.

Between 8 and 9pm looks favourable for the south west initially, anywhere from the IoW and west.

As we progress in to tomorrow, the risk becomes more widespread for southern counties.

I think you'll get your chance tomorrow am, but as we all know in these setups, it's bound to change.

I think there's plenty of scope for the projected path of storms to shift 50 miles east or west.

NMM/NRM charts later this afternoon tend to be quite accurate iirc.

No trains running here today, so I'm waiting for the free coach service being laid on. I just took a snap overlooking Holes bay in Poole, not much going on, milky skies and quite humid.

Ahh the radar within a 15 mile radius of the coast of here always cuts off the precipitation.. I wish there was a way around this, so that the radar would function normally around me :(

Clouded over from the south temp still holding up above 20c with a muggy feel, radar looks like we could catch a heavy downpour shortly.
