After all the rain and wind yesterday, it's nice to have blue skies, sun and a gentle breeze. No exciting showers here. Max temp was 5.4C and currently 3.7C. Hoping for a cold one tonight with some snowy showers tomorrow am. The west Midlands in particular seems to be in a good spot.

Sundays possible snow event huge downgrade just on bbc weather.

System only gets into South coast. It got all the way into the Midlands

on earlier forecasts with snow over us.

I hope Tuesdays event doesn't go tits up but I've got a bad feeling it will!

Just like I said a couple of days ago, the weather is finding more and more imaginative ways to avoid snow over this part of the Midlands.

Although we had a soft hail shower earlier.....maybe that could count as this year's snow?

Will view charts again Sunday Night, if blandness is back I shall be off again.

Wintry showers earlier (hail/sleet) but was in work unfortunately, surprised just how dry and clear it is now, was hoping for Cheshire Gap effect while winds are NW !

The very definition of wintry showers earlier this afternoon. Had just about everything in them. Got home to find that hail has settled slightly up here in Gornal.

Well done Midlanders. Just been in and out of various threads on the site. Lovely and calm in here as always.

There is a chance of showers coming through early tomorrow morning I think but nothing to get too excited about...worth looking out for though.

Now, seeing we have the atmosphere right in here. Who's having a beer and who's having wine?

Are we getting snow showers tonight/ tomorrow in the West Midlands?

The BBC is showing a front coming down from the North West during Saturday morning but only shows PPN over SouthWales And the South Midlands

and the 6z Euro4 seems to back this up

The WRF NMM is still going for a more organized band of showers for Saturday

The MET OFFICE seems to be more in line with the WRF NMM with snow

Still waiting for the (12z Euro4) to come out but at this stage now it's Radars r us http://www.raintoday.co.uk/mobile :)

Even in what is typically reliable time frame we don't have much agreement from any of the models.

I suppose it keeps it interesting if nothing else :p

I look forward to seeing what the weekend brings :)

What I like about this weekend is that it feels like there is nothing to lose. There's not an awful lot of snow expected yet it can't be ignored that there is a little bit of potential for a surprise there. One of those situations of 'hey ho' when it doesn't happen and feeling brilliant when it does.

And as a bonus, there's sunshine forecast for a weekend. That's a great thing at anytime of year!

Wine and (homeade) chilli for me tonight.

Not expecting anything down here tomorrow morning, though the chance of some sleetiness makes it interesting.   looks like being a chilly night (surprised to see that so far I have only had one air frost here so far this year - think that is about to change!).   To soon to worry about what may happen Tuesday night but its nice knowing that the possibility of snow at some point over the next week exists  - thats what weather watching is all about :)

That's true I guess
Nice to see some positive mental attitude, the model thread is borderline suicidal!

Hopefully will see at least some snow tomorrow

Some ice days forecast looking more forward to that possibility than any snow. Haven't seen an ice day for a long time.
