Pretty much nothing here in Bolton, absolutely deplorable.

 

Up there with one of the biggest anti-climaxes in my lifetime - 12 hours of constant heavy snowfall my a**e!!!

 

Although I have been here so many, many times before I still find it incredibly baffling!! - WHY IS IT ALWAYS EVERYWHERE OTHER THAN ME!!!!

I Luv Snow ...... assuming as you mention sleet and snow its the usual split of where to expect the white stuff ?

 

Seems a bit last min this feature, has it only just been picked up ?

I so agree don't know why im shocked at being disappointed but I am again I was down for heavy snowfall from 3pm yesterday and all today but all I can see is a slushy mess which was caused by hail

That is a quote from Nick F, not myself, but he (and other forecasts I have seen) seem fairly confident of snow tonight, as opposed to rain. Usual coastal locations maybe seeing sleet. Does seem this is a feature which has only been picked up over last 12 hours, which often happens with snow!

It isnt....been complete bilge here too...and its gonna get worse when that front gets here tonight and falls as rain.

Don't think we'll get much from now on , we had a light (0.5cm) covering between 8-9am this morning , It's all gone now and the sun is out ...Bring on Spring so i can get my BBQ and summer clothes out

Im currently sat under that band of snow in south cumbria, its been snowing heavily for 20 mins or so and has already left a covering here. I am 2 mins from the coast here as well.

More snow showers this morning brought total to 9cms which is unexpectedly good considering the last spell only brought 2cms.

Showers dying out now but temperature close to freezing despite sunshine.

On its way south gave about 30/40 mins of snow here. Left a covering. Looks like even Preston may be in the firing line this time.

Bright sunshine here now. Lower level roads getting back to passable with care. Snow event over. 3 kids are driving me mad now the sledging,snowball fights and making footprints is over. There bored and cold already. Grrrr..

My students went mental when it started, eventually let them leave a bit early as it was pointless trying to get them to work. Was really suprised how easily and quick it stuck.

 

Looking at the wind direction I am quite optimistic in regards to more showers this afternoon and more importantly the evening (colder temps). Plus we may just catch the edge of that low pressure zipping down.

I was just about to post saying it feels much colder now than it did this morning, does this bode well for anything that might fall later, colder ground and air?? I hope so cos everything that came down before disappeared as soon as it stopped!
