As we've breached 20C and have been discussing events in other threads i thought i'd create this one so we don't clog the spring thread which is more a long range thread.

...

14C here now but it does feel much fresher, i found Sunday and Monday to feel a little oppressive.

Warmest right now is 18C.

..

Outlook looks pretty lovely bar the weekend with pressure building again next week.

im hoping for some warmth right on the east coast on Thursday for a day at the beach. Wind direction looks favourable so im hopeful of a max of around 16c for Bridlington.

Yes it seems that on Thursday and Friday, the wind will shift to a more south to south-westerly direction, which should hopefully clear away some of the low cloud from the North Sea coasts, as well as raise the temperatures further. Oh, how I love spring warmth!

It looks like i may be lucky. Expecting some warm sunshine when heading to the coast this time of year is risky business.

Really enjoying the early April warmth, certainly raises the spirits. Could do with the decent weather lasting out the weekend though as still have lots to sort in the garden.

It hasn't been oppressive at all, this is perfect warmth with cool nights.

Warm spells aren't uncommon at all in April, overhyped as per usual by the same people who tell people night frost isn't unusual.

My room gets the sun all day pretty much and I've been writing the dissertation so it may be down to that.

16C here with still an hour to go until solar noon. I'm almost certain that today will be the warmest day of the year so far here. I think 19C, possibly 20C is going to be the max today.

If you were a resident of Whitby in 1965 you would have had your warmest day of the year a week ago,25 deg on 29th march, amazing!!

Certainly a lovely output. Being skint until Monday i thought i'd been screwed out of enjoying those first pub trips and day trips in the sun but i'm glad the weather looks to accommodate me.

Yesterday was a reminder of the time of year, at least during the morning and early afternoon. The temp gauge on my van in work was showing 5.5C, whereas it was showing 12C at the same time the day before.

After the glory of last week today was supposed to be the culmination of the warmth but there's solid cloud cover.

I see clear skies to the north, west and south.. here, we have small area of cloud sitting above West Yorkshire, that hasn't moved all day, despite clear skies not far away. How odd. I've seen this a lot, but why it happens I will never know.

Probably a downslope off the Pennines last night but the wind is now too weak to blow it away. Right now it's been aided by the sun, i'd look for it to weaken this evening.

First heat of the year 23.5C again warmest spot in the country lucky me.... NOT! this is way above April average got quite sweaty as you can expect my body needs to acclimatise after a cool Winter honestly I look forward to it getting cooler the seasons are not like what they used to be. With tomorrow expected to be even warmer as another wave of warmer air mass surges, it may even exceed 26C which is quite exceptional.

These warm spells in April definitely seem to be more frequent now. 27c was reached on 16th in 03, 26.5C on 15th in 07 and 27.8c on 23rd in 11 (plus a few other days in 11 over 26c). Wonder what tomorrow will bring.. Im thinking a 25c max somewhere tomorrow so not quite as warm as those dates but respectable nonetheless

Better than expected here, the cloud was slowly starting to break by around 9, with sunny intervals from mid morning, and sunny skies this afternoon. Temps around 14-15c, a similar day expected tomorrow, but likely to be a bit warmer.

As feared, a despicable day with an atrocious contrast in temperatures and conditions. Yesterday only got going late in the afternoon too, with unbroken blue sky teasing just to the south.

The worst warm weather setup.
