vast swathes of the country should get hit.

Currently a strike rate of 207/min - crackers in itself!

Starting to wind down here now. Not been much action and the temperature has dropped again so I think I'll call it a night soon.. Still a few flashes but not like before!

absolutely ****ing mental !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

best lightning display I have ever witnessed (and I have seen some).....got about an hour of footage which I will upload to my youtube channel and link to later

Agreed it was a corker. Still rumbling and flashing distantly here but worth waiting up for. Guys n gals in the Midlands Northwards best stay up and wait and watch, it is worth waiting for believe me.

Spoke too soon! And it's come back to life like a zombie, pelting it down and more lightning!

Bitter that I missed out - but that is a cracker of an image with I imagine more to come as it moves North. Fantastic for the UK in my opinion - probably another few years before it gets this close to me again

Lightning activity has visibly decreased as these thunderstorms have moved north. Some occasional flashes but I think for my salubrious district tonight's show is over. Good and umbrellas up to those in the midlands and the north.
