Not much going on! They seem to be dancing around me, here in steamy NW London, they have barely wet the floor. :blink2:

??

We had three hours of non-stop lightning, not a lot of overhead thunder fair enough but still a few massive crashes so no complaints from me here in Ealing

Holy cow. That was um ... interesting!

Mostly cloud to cloud and the rain stopped me getting good footage - scary as a brotherchucker though when it went overhead (I was parked in Harpenden).

Before that I was near luton and a really freaky thing happened. A plane went overhead and then there was a CC flash listed a few secs and then a noise like someone quietly rustling tin foil but it went all around the clouds around me. Have got it on video but not sure it comes out. Really really freaky moment.

After that I basically got scared and was driving about not knowing where to go but the forks we're going off all around me. Scary scary thing to be caught in and gutted I didn't find a good dry vista to film or get pics.

An awesome storm though - but next time I won't go inside it!

Reminded me at its peak like that Essen one last year - real stroby sheet lightning.

Wow.

Currently in in the back garden, the storms seem to be slowing down on their track north, seen lightning from here since 1am,feels quite cool as well. Most of the lightning is sheet, with distant deep rumbling thunder. No rain as yet.

Still flickering away to the west here. The cell died a little as it approached but we had a few good rumbles. Still mild though, best lightning show for a while but thunder and rain intensity not great.

Got to see some decent lightning to the cells which passed to the E of here so no bust by any stretch but could have been MUCH better overall. Not worth the hype for here but other areas will disagree as they got lucky.

Yeah even now still flickering brightly but it could have been much better. Infact the cell has intensfied towards Congelton and East Cheshire now :-(

Uttoxeter got a pounding too just like last July.

Storms passed here about 30 mins ago. Thunder wasn't overly loud apart fro. Three or four bright purple coloured check bolts that were fairly close. Apart from a five min torrential downpour hardly any rain. Did however have some really nice elevated strobe lightning with the metallic crackling sounding thunder. Feels more humid outside after the storm than beforehand. All the rain that fell has almost evaporated away.

Last chance now are those cells towards the Welsh border. If they can intensify we should be in the firing line but they have less favourable atmospheric conditions to weather now

Yeah not sure I will hang around for those unless they wake me. Great night radar watching anyway, shame we dont get more frequent events like this.

Massive storm to my east producing multiple forks at the same time - really spectacular. Cloud base looks very low.

Hope Gordon had survived thus far, not had it that bad in Leicester, but my stomach is churning big style, throbbing head and that awful smell I get when there's lightning about, right at the back of my nose and below the eyes, anyone else get that "smell sensation" when it's lightning?
