Sunshine breaking through now ground starting to dry and the rain is now almost 7 miles north of us

lightning now just south of Westmoor - I may of videoed a streak of lightning for the 1st time will try and edit it and show it later

storm has now passed to the North - a short lived spell of heavy rain,some forked lightning and thunder, 

spoke too soon chucking it down now

lovely clear blue skies looking at the radar some cells have suddenly popped up near manchester, sign of things to come perhaps,

Is it a very ragged rope funnel cloud?
It is quite windy so could soon get distorted.
Brief funnels are common but easily missed as quite short-lived

Those showers near Manchester appear to be heading north, but at same time there is constant new development at the southern end so wouldn't be surprised if something else suddenly spins up.
Having said that the real heat is gone, it's a 'normal' 21C here.

Yep and thats all it is rain, i am not sure whether this cap is going to break now and there was a chance of that happening,
