Still at 12.4C for Sunny Sheffield. If it's a cold night hitting seven degrees back down to 12.3C tomorrow unlikely though so not expecting any real change for the next few days.

The minimum today is 8.5C, while maxima look like reaching the high 15s, so remaining on 13.1C on tomorrows update.

After that, the 06z GFS has the CET at:

13.0C to the 26th (11.4: -1.4)
13.0C to the 27th (12.1: -0.8]
13.0C to the 28th (13.4: +0.1)
13.0C to the 29th (12.5: -0.6)
12.9C to the 30th (12.0: -0.8]

A finish of between 12.8 and 13.1C most likely, with 12.3C to 13.1C the range after corrections.

Must say I thought I was pessimistic even with my 13.3c estimation at the end of last month but even that looks like it could be some way out. Seems like a lot more will be even further out too. Definitely a trend to bear in mind possibly for October. It's these cold nights!!!

No drop today overnight breeze kept the night time temps up so tonight will be interesting. Very low dew point so if the breeze goes.

Ach just noticed a mistake in my figures and I'd missed a day out. so we're at 12.3C for the month.

Minimum today of 4.8C (provisionally the coolest since June 10th) while maxima look like reaching the high 16s, so a drop to 13.0C is likely on tomorrows update.

After that, the 06z GFS has the CET at:

13.0C to the 27th (12.2: -0.7)
13.0C to the 28th (13.4: +0.2)
13.0C to the 29th (13.2: +0.1)
13.0C to the 30th (12.6: -0.2)

So 12.9C to 13.1C before corrections, and 12.4C to 13.1C after corrections. My best guess would be 12.6C

No change here still 12.3C for the month rounded up. 12.2C tomorrow if temps get down to 8C tonight or slightly lower.

This figure doesn't look too bad.

I went for the same, and thought I was being optimistic...or pessimistic depending on your perspective!

Could be the first September that was at least 1.0C below the 1971-2000 average since that average came into existence. An indication of the lack of cold Septembers over some years.

And believe it or not we still haven't recorded an April that was at least 1.0C below the 1961-90 average came into existence and that was 25 years ago.

The minimum today is 5.8C, while maxima look like reaching the low 18s, so a drop back to 12.9C is possible on tomorrows update.

After that, the 06z GFS has the CET at:

12.9C to the 29th (13.1: +0.0)
13.0C to the 30th (13.6: +0.8]

So 12.9C or 13.0C before corrections, 12.4 to 13.0C after corrections.

Still looks touch and go as to whether we finish 12.9 or 13.0C before corrections (current calcs are for 12.95C). A finish of at least 1.0C below the 81-10 average is all but guaranteed though.

Interesting that we are below average given it has seemed subectively to be an ok weather month.

From my solar output being above estimate and also my gas bill can I hazard a guess that it has been the night time temperatures that have pulled the cet down?

I think that's the case, with minima being comparatively lower than maxima.

On the whole I've really enjoyed this September, plenty of sunshine, quite dry, decently warm by day and refreshingly cool by night.

Both are well below normal here by and by night -1.3c by day and -1,7C by night. More interesting is the lack of temperature variation during the month
