"Breakthrough Starshot announces plans to send spacecraft to Alpha Centauri"

It would be astonishing, but I don't know how realistic it is, The panel at the press conference at least lends some credibility (Stephen Hawking, Freeman Dyson, Ann Druyan).

I have researched this and found that it is possible, but we would need two things, a powerful enough laser to push the micro-craft to the star and a means of destroying the debris that it may encounter along the way. We unfortunately have none of these and so will have to wait a great deal of time before any real signs of this happening are seen
