A 'winter' which could be compare to a cruel mistress; promised much, but delivered very little....... :wallbash:

Well what happened to the sun today; I thought i'd be likely to see it this far west. Not quite as warm as yesterday as a result, max temp 7.8°C.

At long last the wild winds have died down here.

we've no doubt had stronger winds but it's a long while since they lasted for a full 48 hours and I'm thankful that the end result was only a single fence panel blown through along with a couple of metres of deck screening ripped apart.

I think i know where my priorities lie this weekend.

Wow really was it that bad? Just a strong breeze down here.

Yes it was bad, icy cold wind, ears felt like dropping off until about 4.30 ish, then felt a bit better

Yes the bone-chilling easterly winds are dying down, that's why it was so disappointing not to get the snow.  Looks mild and average for the reliable.

Easterly winds are often quite bad here.

I'm not sure why but it may be the topography with a long ridge line immediately to my east and they seem to gather strength as they come downhill from the top of the moor.

sunday morning I was struggling to stand up when out walking the dog and this morning it was a howling gale at home but completely calm at work lower down the valley.

anyway it's gone now so hopefully a more pleasant period coming up.

ooh yes, wouldn't mind if it was a true beast with snow, but not a nuisance value wind, with rain/mild on the way

might as well be mild from the word go

It was noticeably milder last night whilst partaking in some astrophotography between the clouds, not having to need 4x layers, hat, gloves, scarf was welcome.

Morning

A mixed bag looking likely for the next seven days.

Monday looks like been mild/warm with temperatures reaching a very respectable 15/16c,A one day wonder though as from Tuesday Temperatures are in decline.By Thursday

Temperatures will be more like 5-7c range along with a cool NW wind bringing snow showers to elevated parts of the Region,Perhaps some sleet to lower levels.By

the second half of the weekend(26-27 Feb) Temperatures look like recovering once again.

I'm not sure that Monday is going to be that brilliant, probably better for Cheshire at least with some shelter from the Welsh mountains but I get a horrible feeling its going to be a cloudy drizzly for a lot of people. The wind direction is too westerly.
