Thank you Jethro and Khodds. I am at home now and have the TV on. There was just a trailer for the early evening local news and they had the snow as the lead item..........they showed a map showing the whole West country covered with it! That is what I call exciting......I am doing a little excited jig on the sofa!

Oh.  Lol.  Not sure Oxfordshire is in the SE as I meant it.  Lol.  Apologies.

Might see something Saturday though.

Haha! Anything in that quadrant of the country is south and east to me  :pardon:

Imagine if every drop of PPN was of snowfall over the next 48hrs;

That would mean roughly 18cm of snow in the heart of the West Country.  :sorry:

Ie. Those further east get more involved with the fun & games.

Something for the moors as per the 12z Hirlam tomorrow night though;

Euro 4 as follows. In regard to tomorrows low. Further east and north where the cold air engages quicker..

Fridays low is further west affecting more midlands.

Edit- Just seen AWD has posted just ahead of me, apologies for replication!

It would certainly be nice if either the snow going down the spine of the country could be this far west, or the snow showers to follow in the west to be this far east. Just don't want to fall into a magic dry gap like so many times before!

Fridays low could also affect our region , it's moved west a little that's for sure - snow looks heavy around Birmingham so those in the east of our area may have best chance as the front slides SSE .

I'd say your sitting pretty for both these events! I'd be very happy with output living near swindon.

Yes certainly something to watch, have a feeling that will slide SE, so we would be on the edge. Chilterns/Dunstable could be well placed for both events!

Follow the streamlines.  It heads SE towards London & into Belenux.

I did follow the lines and the western side hits our region :D

Another 50 mile shift west would be nice though

Not us.  Swindon area eastwards possibly.

One event at a time anyway.  I can't manage two.  Lol.

So according to the national  forecast I just watched I expect I'm  too far West to see any snow from the event tomorrow and then it shows plenty of snow showers packing in and it looks like I'm just a tad too far east to be affected by those but they were oh so close on the map! Oh the irony if that's how it plays out lol.

Those snow showers are interesting me a little more than tomorrow's rain (imby) now.

There is nothing marginal about Thursday night/Friday morning and some models do show these penetrating into the inland West Country.

With showers, these are very much a radar job as they naturally are very hit & miss.  Good chance some of us will see something going by that forecast.

Hey, don't worry! I'm too far West, East, North and South for snow. connie_testwall.gif

Aint worth getting excited about anyway. Marginal stuff.

Give me 3 days of near zero daytime temps, followed by LP sliding from S Ireland across our region on day 4, quickly followed the next day by another slider. LOL! In our dreams.
