if not tomorrow friday will do sure we will see something.its more favorable temp wise on fri:cold-emoji:

Plenty of snow showers were packing in on the forecast map so who knows, might have to go off chasing these showers  if they're not hitting this area

Nice to see Ian mentioning some snow showers falling on behind the rain/wintry mess tomorrow night too.

However, on Friday the 12z Hirlam shows PPN over the West Country and with conditions a lot less marginal on Friday, this would be snow for the majority (most likely in the form of flurries);

Hands up who is doing an all-nighter tomorrow night??  Lol.

I said yesterday:

"I have a gut feeling there will be some pleasant surprises for some on Friday.. even if it's just a dusting. What usually happens is the main event is a let down and then there's some unexpected shower activity the day after when it's colder."

Still time for changes but it always seems to happen like this.

Wouldn't be surprised if we had some sleet here before that front pulls away going by the forecast and east of the m5 sounds good, I'm only about a thousand yards west from junction 21 lol

East of the M5 is hugely better than the usual north of the M4. I know the graphics can't be taken literally but on the Points West forecast just now it showed the precipitation whipping through pretty quickly, seemed to be only a couple of hours where there's potential for it to be cold enough for snow whilst there's still something falling from the sky.

Why can't the ECM 240h chart every verify, that would be a classic blizzard into the south west!

Oxford area looks to be in the sweet spot. In the firing line for Thursday and Friday.

No doubt it will change again though

Been lurking and watching for a couple of years now and get frustrated around this time every year at both the weather and the carry on over in the MAD thread some days.

I'm about 250 yards west of the M5 so lamppost watching it is! Unless it shifts west a touch and stalls.....

Being in North Yate, I'm East of the M5 and North of the dreaded M4. What could possibly go wrong!

Fingers crossed for all hoping for snow.

According to those graphics we only get about a 1-2 hour window of snow.

That's 1 - 2 hrs more than I was expecting to be honest.

Will still watch the radar/window lick with interest tomorrow but it is the potential for any shower activity to enter our area tomorrow night that interests me more now.

Could be a lot of rain here, going by the graphics on the points west forecast. A bit of interest for someone who doesn't mind heavy rain and strong winds! It'll be a busy affair tomorrow, that's for sure- and travelling will be rather horrid for anyone caught up in it.
