No storms for me here this year, or since 2015 if I don't count the ones where I have gone to the storm (although I do believe there was a small storm overhead during the early hours of 16th September last year but I was down near Hampshire chasing storms at the time). I saw a small storm on Friday but it was 100 miles to the west of here.

Had 2 rumbles from a storm that passed pretty nearby tonight. Not sure if that's enough to get me completely out of the club, but I'll put my shoes and coat on...

Not a flash or rumble all year. It's a rare spring that doesn't produce at least one downpour with a rumble of thunder. Trend for the year, or the famine before the feast?

Had a very stormy looking shower yesterday, sadly all electrical -ness had gone by the time it reached me, but the rain looked nice in the garden lights.

I think its going to be a long summer! I fully expect 80% of the country will have seen some thing come the end of this weekend, meanwhile in Shropshire and Crewe we will be still waiting for our 1st storm since.... yeah it has been that long!

I am going to have to rant in here as I am not happy. Last nights storms fizzled to just a couple of spots of rain by the time they got here and then intensified a few miles to the NE and produced sferics. Today some showers developed a few miles to the north and grew into monsters. I actually attempted a chase and headed towards Congleton. Whilst there, storms brewed up to the south around Stoke and moved over me at a rapid pace, losing there intensity as they passed over me, and then grew into beasts just to the north. For a while I thought I was in luck as I heard constant thunder approaching and then...... nothing. They were moving too fast to chase without a ferrari and a clear road or a helicopter.

So we have Sunday into Monday whereby the Met Office have a weather warning for storms over my area, but the models don't show the risk coming anywhere near me (unless the risk zone shifts 100 miles north).

So a weekend with huge promise is likely to pass without more than a drop of rain for this area.

Nothing so far today, and I don't think we will get anything now. Unusual to get this far into the year without at least one 'thundery shower' as the BBC persist in calling thunderstorms, judging by radar storms passed about 20 miles to the west moving north.

This year is going like 2016 and that was dire, early days it must be said. I have heard one rumble of thunder from a cell that passed a few miles to my S that doesn't count. Around 8am this morning there was a line of showers which turned thundery & is decided to spit out sferics as it passed east of here. No luck. I'm looking at the Euro4 and it looks there could be something thundery moving up in the early hours of Monday doubt it'll be a MCS probably just be bog standard heavy rain; today has turned into a cloud fest. It was looking at first to be the warmest day out this warm spell, it doesn't feel stormy in the slightest with a fresh breeze...:nonono:

Sadly none today. Although I know there can never be any certainty with storms I'd say the forecasts got my hopes up. They seemed to be certain some would pass over MK heading north today but nothing other than some cells in the distance this morning.

Well if you have it up here there is no chance of a thunderstorm stopping it. Doesn't look like we will get anything tonight/early tomorrow either, may be further west, but it looks to be fizzling out at the moment. Still it can all change very quickly at the moment. Yesterdays storms sprung up out of nowhere albeit they were forecast

And once again it seems like there's a stormproof bubble around Milton Keynes. The storm in the early hours was so close yet so far. Spent an hour watching heavy rain in the hopes of lightning but not a single strike. Couldn't be more disappointed. This has been the most boring year for storms I've ever seen so far. We've usually had one by now here. Think I might consider moving to Kent...
