Uppers are closing into -7C, heavy PPN, and it's not snow. Wow, lol!

It's the onshore flow...you can see with the precipitype on the NW radar that the longer the land track, the more likely the precipitation will be snow. It'll be rain here too later if this is the case when the winds turn more direct NW'ly rather than WNW'ly

Upon closer inspection, it's heavy sleet with big flakes thrown in. Direct Westerly component need to vanish.

Another storm in a teacup IMBY. Dry and rather cold with no chance in hell of anything falling from the sky tonight. I’ll wager my left nut now that Sunday’s event turns into a no show for those North of the Ribble. ???

Its a darn site better than some of the nonsense other short range models, you'll get a much better idea of sunday when that comes into range.

It’s a high resolution model the best is UKV which is 1.5km resolution which we mere mortals can’t see the EURO4 is 4km it typically is the best model but it can have its busts.

I won't deny I thought this had a good few inches of snow written all over it. With this setup it's shocking around these parts, shouldn't be though

Problem is you only get opportunity from WNW and that is marginal UNLESS - You get a massive cold airmass  like 2010 17th Dec where it comes right down across the country first then a shortwave forms and then the winds go WNW - even then I only got 3 inches.
