I just want a nice cold high with sunny days and frosty nights, but even that’s too much to ask down here these days!

My second favourite winter type. Couldn’t agree more.

A day like today comes third & certainly what I do not class a dreary.

Rain & gales bottom of list but seems to float the boat to most on here... weird...

Today was crap here. Very dull and mild. I think some areas caught the sun, but not here!

Yes, today wasn’t what I’d call nice but the rain stayed away and made the day very usable, at least. Some sun would’ve been good. Don’t mind the mild temperatures as long as the sun is out.

Really?

Id call torrential rain and gales a crap day.

Today was very useable and good for dog walking and an afternoon run. Far from crap

I like cold weather in the winter and hot weather in the summer. Mild weather is muck at this time of year, but we all have our own preferences!

Its crap everywhere, should take me 5 mins to Bexleyheath town centre from here but was close to half hour today, coming back I took all back roads, queues everywhere, roads gridlocked, over 20 mins. Just gets worse and worse all the time, and thats with good weather, they keep moving temporary traffic lights around all the time too, Bexley council just love them!

Rain and gales usually means mild muck as well - so I don’t follow!

I’d rather a day like today than the mild rain & wind muck that looks of tomorrow- that’s a crap day - not today.

But like you say each to their own

I don’t like rain and gales either, never said I did. I like cold and snowy or cold and dry in the winter. Mild and dull days (like today) don’t float my boat at all.

You said today was a crap day.

Sorry for the miscommunication!

I presume a day of rain & gales must mean a tradegy to you if you thought today was a crap day. Lol

Today definitely floats my boat if it can’t be cold & snowy. Anything other than rain.

No, tomorrow will be crap too. How anyone likes grey sky is beyond me, but each to their own.

I didn’t realise a personal preference would ruffle your feathers so much ?

Not at all.

Just bizarre how anyone can call a dry useable day in January if it’s not cold and snowy as “crap”

This country in winter= if it isn’t cold - it’s usually raining. So a grey sky with no rain is far from crap.. I’ll grab it both hands over endless boring boring rain.

Anyway.. have a nice evening.

The Met Office just  have it as  a normal windy day tomorrow. So it looks like this system won't produce the same strength of gusts as the last one did.

Each to their own - to  me a grey, dry day is exceptionally dull and indeed crap.  I love rain and gales (though the last few storms have had me worried!) as much as snow, cold and thunderstorms - I love all weather when it does something, I cannot stand endless, leaden skied dry weather at any time year, it's so tedious to me.  The world would be just as dull if we all agreed!:)

Because in my opinion grey skies and mild temperatures is crap in a season which I prefer to be cold. Just because you don’t see it is crap, it doesn’t mean other people have to have the same opinion!

Fair dos.

I take part in a lot of outdoor activities and my job is also outdoor.

So leaden grey sky’s without rain is perfect for me if it isn’t cold and snowy (my favourite)

Rain & Gales = British norm and I can safely say probably gives me the same feeling as you get with grey and dry.

Of course.

I see your point.

I think we’ve established our versions of “crap” days are very different. :-)

Indeed, but at least we both agree that cold and snowy would be preferable ?

Is that a large Squally line forming in front of the main band?

Wonder if that will reach our region?

Fair do’s indeed, I can see why you’d hate it whilst working outside. I’d definitely take the snow over rain and gales anytime-anything for variety/action in the end though for me really as a weather enthusiast.

Another gloom fest this morning but could get lively later hopefully with that squall line!
