I think there will be quite a bit of snow next week in the form of showers, if they pop up and move west we don’t have the welsh mountains in the way so reckon they will push quite far west, just a thought

Yes, it's the best direction for all of us, looks like a window, Sunday to Monday night, not exactly a snowfest beast, but looks decent

Plus it shouldn’t be a slushy type it might almost be classed as powder or am I just hoping ?

They will. round here is the highest point all the way east to Russia. So yes hopefully some showers should reach us

EC best for us, and furthest north, UKMO and GFS not as good as we could do with setup a bit further north

Think my rear wheel drive car is going to be pretty useless if we get some as it’s probably not going to melt very quick lol

Yes. Useless information lol. Thats in a straight line obviously. As east of us is a few hills called the alps   There is usually a reporter standing in sedgley stating this fact. Every time we have a easterly.

I didn’t either tbh, I no it’s pretty flat going that way so I’m hopeful

Wow that's awesome Matt! Looks reslly good on their high def TV too :D definitely one of the best weather pictures I have seen.

Hoping for some showers from the East next week. Being in Rushden (East Northamptonshire) now, I probably have the best chance of snow from an Easterly that i've ever had. Previously I lived in Leicester for 24 years and 4 years in Oxford. Leicester did ok from some Easterly's we had over the years but I can imagine places like Peterborough, Kettering, Corby, Rushden etc... are pretty much prime locations for them.

Arpege has snow right thru’ the spine of the country before fizzling out on Saturday so that’s good news.

Then it just gets colder and colder.

Early days but Tuesday looks like being just the odd flurry (GFS) no oomph in system

The Model Output forum a barrel of laughs, as usual. Can't post anything that goes even slightly against narnia snowmaggedon without getting sniped at.

I'd take a middle ground between the ECM and GFS for Tuesday's system. ECM often overdoes the blocking to our east and the GFS often underdoes it. A middle ground is often the case and would be good for our region.

IF reckons small amounts. Maybe a few cm. Met Office region forecasts say snow on Tuesday but uncertain how widely it settles. Hmm.

Fax chart for Tuesday shows the occluding Atlantic frontal system, probably giving snow quite widely should it have enough oomph left.

Regional forecast for the West Midlands states there is uncertianty regarding settling snow. Can't figure out why. No such mention on the East Midlands forecast.
