The updated ICON keeps the low pressure south of the UK and therefore the easterly winds continue till Sunday at least! Massive Greenland high too! :yahoo::yahoo:

This is what we want really - as much as I would like the PPN to push North and stall giving us lots of snow, i'd settle for the Greenland High which increases our chances of snow and cold.

Yes!! I thought the same thing when I saw it before on Twitter??!

It doesn't quite match. You got a snow area on that model that might  be passing through the Liverpool to Manchester area in time for rush hour......

I'm not jinxing this

Just waiting for the update to the regional text forecast. The Yorkshire one has updated and says heavy snow mainly  in the north of the region which is a good thing for us.

This low at the end of the week is going to make for painful watching for those on its northern fringes. The headline news for blizzards will most likely be made further south.

By the time we get to Friday the Northern extent will be the Midlands as we all know too well. :nonono:

Out of every single warning so far, the GFS also looks ghastly for here, showing a ppn shield around my area, absolute joke, sick of it already.

 Here we go.

Headline:

Bitterly cold with snow showers tonight. Some persistent snow tomorrow.

This Evening and Tonight:

Some further scattered snow showers are possible in the east, but it will be a mostly dry night with some clear spells and a severe frost. Possibly a spell of more persistent snow arriving from the east by dawn. Minimum temperature -4 °C.

Tuesday:

A spell of persistent snow is expected to move southwestwards across the region through the morning and will be followed by sunny spells and scattered snow showers. Staying bitterly cold. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Remaining bitterly cold on Wednesday and Thursday with scattered snow showers. Windy on Thursday and Friday with a significant wind chill. A risk of disruptive snowfall overnight Thursday into Friday.

This evening and tonight is the same as before, but upgrades everywhere else. Tomorrow they use more definite wording for the persistent snow.
