Cantley weather summary for July 2018

What a month, my highest mean and maximum temperatures for July (22 years) which would have been even higher if the nights had been a bit warmer at times. Thank goodness not though as some of the overnight minima were higher than the maxima on some years! The drought continued from 16 June until the afternoon and evening of the 26th. Passing storms just to my east gave rainfall rates of 165 and 221 mm p hr in two close by. In the second one visibility fell for a few minutes to not much more than about 1200m. As with further storms on the following day not much lightning or thunder. Rainfall ended up a touch above average.

Mean=20.4 (17.5)

Avge Max=27.4 (22.1), the warmest day 32.3 on 5th and the coldest 20.6 on 29th

Avge Min=13.4 (12.8) the coldest night 10.3 on 4th and the warmest 27th with 17.6

Rainfall was 43.8 mm and the wettest day 26 th with 17.0 mm; 56 days with 0.2 mm or more and 5 with 1.0 mm or more

Thunder on 2 days, no hail, frosts or fog
