You say that all the time! Your inCumbria!!! Every time it’s meant to snow I always get in the car and head up your way and never have a problem finding snow . I can’t this time as I live in Spain now but you really are quite lucky to have it on your doorstep

West cumbrian climate is alot different to central/eastern, its normally a 45 minute drive to find snow then hike up a mountain! I dont think its as snowy as you think it is, theres only been a couple of days of a covering on the central/eastern fells. Even so its never the same as it falling in your back garden!

MetO seem bullish about Tuesday event, I guess snow is more likely on higher ground, temps seem quite high...marginal, should be fun

Yes, hate to say it, but that word may rear its head tomorrow, altitude.

Either way, after scouring the models it seems likely the heavier stuff reaches the region between 3pm and 6pm, during which the dews probably turn the right side of marginal for most..

Will be intersting to see if we get a yellow warning for tomorrow..surely we will.

Let's just hope they don't roll out the dreaded 'temporary slushy covering to lower levels' line! The worst will probably hit around rush hour so some potentially hazardous driving conditions tomorrow evening - spray from surface water everywhere

Just seen Joes post, yes, i think there could be snow showers following on from the front tomorrow evening so those that miss out will hopefully hit some beefy snow showers as by 6pm-9pm dews are - across pretty much all the region.

Can't see much for the coast on Tues, praying Thurs makes it up here as that would deliver.

Close range model in Hirlam usually pretty accurate.

Mind the rain gap

Might see a bit of back edge snow falling onto wet ground which will be too late.

All in all it looks, at face value, a decent chance for our region, the updated warnings this morning will give us a much better idea how the pros see it..

I would like to think things look better for us than yesterday morning so fingers crossed.

Convective cooling is a key here tommorow then. Any heavier bursts should be enough to turn to snow.

If we can get to tuesday eveing runs still with thursday's northward push of the low then I'll be much happier, at this stage after many many letdowns I ain't getting carried away.

Good luck with tomorrow for others as I think the coast won't get much if any lying snow.

Met Office going with 'no snow / not much snow' compared to the models and different forecasts for certain area's, possibly dew point related?

Was hoping to see an upgrade on their site to a yellow warning

Just watched Carol K. current graphics for Thursday show 9+ hours of snow (apart from those that live where the snow shield covers)

They usually update their warnings for future events later in the morning or afternoon. They never update warnings at 4am unless something is happening there and then
