Showery trough along the north coast of Cornwall

The surface  analysis at midday yesterday had a showery trough very close to the north coast of Cornwall. The Camborne sounding, although not massively unstable, certainly had the potential for cloud tops towards 20, 000ft.

As  it happens I was traveling on a coach from St Just to St Ives and the cloudscapes of Cu/Cb were quite impressive and these snaps do not do them justice. A good illustration of the LCL (lifting condensation level). The first snap is offshore at Sennen and then traveling north east. By the time we rweached St Ives it was bucketing down

Saw something similar when waiting for a bus the other week, cannot describe how amazing it was, just very unusual looking, cumulonimbus still rising at the top but looked so 3D - so many different levels to it.

Top right is the best one.
