The gfs 12 take on the potential Medicane 

69-78 hrs pressure and wind gusts

rainfall rates off the chart at 90 and total accumulations of nearly 300mm at 96

all subject to change as you know but potential for severe flooding there in southern/SW Greece

you can already make out Cassilda on the Sat returns.

The uneventful weather follows me wherever I go. I am in northern Greece (kavala) where it is going to be dry and sunny while the west and south gets all the action.

I was due to be on Zakynthos now. Knowing the island, expect flooding towards the south side from Kalamaki to Keri, along with flooding due from mountain ranges into Alykes/Gerkas.

I've been on the island through fires and earthquakes but never a medicane!

Unsurprisingly my friends in Alykes on Zakynthos are sharing photos showing the roads around the old salt pans are getting flooded. Whilst Alykes is low down by the sea, during the floods in the winter of 2017/2018 it did come up into businesses on the front. 

 

This attached is towards the back of the salt pans and slightly higher up so I can only hope the main road from Alykes to Alyankas is still clear - the bridge there a very low indeed.
