Just had a peak outside my window and was surprised to not see any lightning.

I certainly have seen storms around the same distance or perhaps even further before.

Quite a steady flow of flashes of lightning on one of the Brighton cams. Every 30 seconds or so.

Something else developing too off the coast of Poole.

@Mapantz You might see something

So I see! I'm sat by my bonfire at the moment. I don't particularly need it to rain.

I saw some fairly large flashes to my east a little while ago...I'm on the Isle of Wight in Ventnor. It was raining but it's mostly fizzled out now!

Just seen some dim flashes to my WSW! The first of what will hopefully be a marvellous convective season.

Glad we are seeing an early start to the season relative to many recent years.

Heres an interesting one. I’ve noticed a few in the past challenging that jet contrails could have an effect on hindering storm formation...

Well, there won’t be a better opportunity to test that theory out at the minute! I’ve always ruled that theory out however. I doubt it plays any part at all.

Yep, I think I have seen a video about that, about the 27 August 2016 storms...

Yeah someone generous has definitely put 50p in the meter as they're back up and running!

At the moment...

It feels incredibly muggy out there this evening, like a summer plume except its April.

Lol you should come down to the Coast about 15 miles to your South East. Here in Leigh On Sea with a stiff easterly it is bloody freezing and takes layers of skin off ya in that wind - Brrrrrr

I do hope there will be more of you that venture out to chase this year.

Nothing wrong with webcam shots, but taking the shot yourself is so worth while.

Watching the webcams at the moment im doing the settings on the camera ready to go!

I cannot wait to get moving!
