I'm always agonisingly unsure exactly where Telford is on a blank map...could be in the orange bit, could be north of the snow altogether! I guess that's always the issue when there's such a sharp cutoff point when it comes to northern extent.

Just looking at the radar the band seems to have spilt about half way up (around Dublin) is this something we need to keep an eye on or is it expected?

And you just know for a fact Leicester will end up being in the middle of that split

I can see what is the front looks like it has a band forming above the main band and euro 4 is predicting they merge in unstable cold air and give big falls across the mids. Its moving really fast so its not losing much moisture also.

Given the increased likelihood of a widespread snow event I would expect to see an amber warning issued relatively soon - mostly targeting southern/central areas of the region.

Same I am just outside of Mansfield

Further north than me, I’m at long Eaton. Had half an hour of snow falling this morning but nothing settled, really just want a day of decent snowfall, deep enough to walk in and it be crisp underfoot!

Met office dont like changing warnings outside the usual 10-11am time period regardless

Also they have changed the forecast for coventry 4 times in the last 3 hours! Now showing 2hr period of heavy sleet!

Haha, that would be poor if they dont update them soon, it's going to start in 5-6 hours. Data has changed substantially since they issued those warnings

In the last few hours, we have gone from snow all morning and day, to completely dry, and now to broken patches of light snow to cloud to heavy snow to cloudy... I've learnt this winter not to look and believe any MetOffice forecast anymore. It's never been accurate.

Those apps are a complete waste of time - example, Telford just has a few light showers forecast between 9am and 12 midday but Wolverhampton has - yes, light snow, but from 7am till 3pm but the two towns/cities are a mere 20 miles apart and almost due west and east of each other.

Change it to Warwick.... I really don't know what data they feed into these apps to generate the forecast that constantly changes
