Warmest day of the year.

Frosty overnight again with a low of -2.4c, but its now 15.2c with a light breeze and clear blue skies.

Perfect.

A few sharp showers did break out today, just a small cluster over the Southern Uplands. The radar image is every 5mins, the VIS satellite every hour, hence the current mismatch.  The showers edging northwards and fade as the sun sets.

Lost that nagging South Easterly today and the temp rose to a max of 12.9C from a min of 1.4C. Sunny but a definite haze this afternoon which could well turn into mist or fog.

Another wonderful spring day... Very little wind early on and a touch of mistiness across the firth which meant some unusual views - the far side was all silhouettes in various shades of blue...  Tomorrow promises to be the warmest day of the week, then a few more days of spring till BANG it all goes tits up. Forecast for Monday looks like a sheep farmer's and gardener's nightmare!

Yikes. It's not just a one night stand with the Ice Queen - looks like she's come to stay.  Better stock up on beer again.

A month or two ago we'd have been jumping for joy at a chart like this, but now, especially after a week of warmth, not so much. Just in time for school Easter hols too.

A subtle change today compared to earlier this week with very hazy conditions after the clearance of the early morning fog.

Impacting temperatures as 9c at the moment compared to the 13.6c at this time yesterday.

Less frost overnight, low of -0.9c; calm conditions.

Crocus and Iris at their peak, daffodils slowly catching up but looking mid April for the full display if the cold weather for next week is to be believed.

Shot at a thundery cell developing toward that North East corner soon, animkmw7.gifanimxwb0.gif the trigger would be a convergence zone in the area animnpu8.gif plus the temperatures being highest there too image.thumb.png.92b9365ff3263886bb9fce79dc69e9f1.pngquite surprised to see quite a lot of CIN (convective inhibition) animbdz4.gifsometimes if a cell can overcome it (essentially breaking through the cap) it can take on a higher chance of severe characteristics but I don't think the convective parameters quite support that today, nonetheless a few rumbles and a bit of lightning could materialize.

An absolutely stunning day with Glasgow airport recording 19C - highest March temperature since 2012.  It’s amazing to think a month ago there was a couple of inches of snow on the ground. In the past week or so it has looked and felt more like May/early June than March.

It looks like things are about to change at the end of the month with much colder air arriving from the north. At this time of year it’s not unusual to see big swings in the weather.

As much as I enjoy the fluctuations of Spring weather and the novelty of late wintry weather I would rather the charts on show for next week had occurred two or three months earlier and I hope we see more of the recent warm, sunny and settled weather during the next six months.

Another crackerjack. Much less haze around today a little cloud did build up around lunchtime but that's melted away. Perfect

17C max here, warm enough to be digging in just a t-shirt. Digging to take up the lawn and plant potatoes, seeing as food prices are going through the roof. Meanwhile, the neighbours are away on holiday and have left the heating on the same as normal. Boiling jaffa cakes time.

Another gorgeous day outside. Keep heading out to the garden for an hour at lunchtime and it feels weird that there is still nothing much to do. Tomatoes still seedlings indoors, onions, carrots etc have barely sprouted.

Only thing needing done is watering the strawberries that were overwintered in pots.

All the bees are in for a shock next week!

Given the title of this Forum, please could it be possible to restrict postings of maps and charts to those which include the area of he entire nation, not just the middle bit?  You know how annoyed we get when the English do it to us|

Thankfully yesterday's Permagloom has not been repeated today.

In fact, it's a complete contrast with clear blue skies and a very light wind; temperature up to 14c and still rising.

Would be more than delighted to have days like this in summer, perfect weather to head up Bennachie (with added advantage of there being no clegs or midges at the moment).

Equally perfect day over this side of the hill unsurprisingly. Followed up by an amazing sunset.

I was up on an illicit walk this morning but there are still some fairly lengthy sections where a machete or a chainsaw would come in handy! Hopefully the forestry commission get on and clear the paths soon.
