Foggy start to the day, not bad afternoon, grim wet cold evening. Currently drizzle and 4c

Woken at  1.30 am by intense hail shower which whitened everything which has since been followed by constant snow showers now settling on hail.       Have noticed over the years that   nature is very good at putting hail down first to get snow to settle in spring. Currently 0c.

Photo shows Horse Chestnut with buds breaking open.Second year running they are going to get frosted.A lot of tender growth in the last week.Looks as though there will be a bit of snow to wake up to.

Got last of neeps up yesterday so plenty feed for a cold spring.  A bit of spring barley sown up over weekend till sower broke down on Monday morning so started neeps on Monday afternoon.

Very heavy hail gave way to heavy snow here and we have a good covering. It was really heavy at one point with very large puffy flakes floating around.

As above, maybe just shy of an inch of nice fluffy dry snow. Sunshine for now but what looks like some hefty showers not far away.

I didn't expect to see anything here but there are a few flakes of snow falling now. 

 

I'm off down to North East England tomorrow morning which could be interesting..

Snowy snow here since getting up at 07.20, has been intermittently lying/not lying so a covering at times, depending on ppn. Snowline right at my height asl. Wonder if there will be a covering at 10am (9am GMT) to declare a snow day... Currently 0.5C.

Hmm, that's a snow shower incoming...

But it was nice and sunny....

Winter is back, just as well the winter jacket is on...

Alpines looking the part in the snow.

Though not so good for the Narcissi with the weight bending some over already.

Clear sunny start to the day with just a dusting of snow on the ground - but heavy snow showers rattling through since around 08:30 have whitened things considerably.

Sunny between the showers and that sunshine is speedily removing the snow on hard surfaces.

Currently 2c with a generally light NNW wind.

Looked out to a very snowy scene first thing and although it's getting thoroughly irradiated by our local star, it's hanging on by the skin of its teeth... More later perhaps, who knows?

I'm here, I'm here. And I'll be here a while. I seem to have picked up a pneumothorax, a collapsed lung and a chest drain. Not much to say on the young female nurses front, nor back, because I seem to have been sleeping for the last week. Think I saw some gorgeous angels though. Weather fine and warm. Morphine jaegerbombers are heartily recommended. Have you met my ostrich? He's just over there....

Further wintry showers overnight Wednesday and early Thursday may lead to fairly widespread icy patches, particularly on untreated surfaces. Some accumulations of snow are also possible, particularly across eastern Scotland and hillier areas of northeast England. 1-2 cm accumulations are possible mainly above 100 m, with 5 cm over parts of Scotland, Northumberland and the North York Moors above 200-300 m.

Couple of short and beefy showers this afternoon but if this is winters last stand then it's a poor effort so far  

Hopefully see some beefier showers push through later this evening. Fingers crossed for at least a dusting!

Woke up to sunshine, - 1C, and a couple of cm of fluffy snow on the car and wintry views al round. Not quite as much on the grass, with paths and roads largely clear.

Snowed on and off outside work in Westhill all day, but struggling to settle in all but the heaviest of showers. Drove through a few showers on way home too, of snow or graupel, but the sun at thus 5ime of the year has turned mist of the wintry scenes from the morning back to winter brown. 

Maybe a repeat tomorrow before we head into no man's land territory of upper single figure temps and cold rain?
