Lovely sunny start to the day.

Didn't last as by mid morning lots of convective cloud building, this culminating with an absolute deluge from 4-6pm.

Lots of surface flooding on the roads, especially to the NW of here around the likes of Lumsden and Keig.

Some very moody looking skies this evening with a wide palette of greys in play...

Could contain: Nature, Outdoors, Sky, Horizon, Grass, Field, Land, Pasture, Grassland, Cloud

Max of 14.5c and light winds throughout.

Just having a prolonged and quite heavy shower with a few rumbles of thunder but the worst seemed to have passed to our West/North West. Not sure if Perth area had any activity?

Still abroad but hearing reports of torrential rain and even mudslides around Aberdeenshire which is slightly concerning given most of my garden is newly sown grass!

Fingers crossed it's been pretty localised and i'm not returning to a huge mess!

Day started very foggy indeed, was not expecting that.

The murk slow to clear, sun returning around 11am.

Thereafter cloud bubbling up fast, with some impressive looking showers loitering around  mid-afternoon-evening, hough they completely missed here giving us a dry day.

Warm with a max of 16c and mainly light winds.

Spent the day in Caithness,  thick fog hugged the coastline from Dunbeath to JOG. Cleared to overcast in Thurso but fog all the way back to Dunbeath this evening and 8c.

Thanks for offering but home in a couple of days so should be fine.

Might be better not knowing if it's ruined anyway when there's nothing I can do about it!

Dodged the very potent looking showers to the West and North yesterday.

Pleasant morning today, showers forecast to arrive later. Sunny spells and currently 17.1c.

Back to the usual Aberdeenshire Permagloom™.

Very murky out there with a steady cool NE wind - currently 11c.

As expected, the "warmth" earlier this week is allowing some rapid plant growth.

Can literally see storms forming due North of us and moving South West in the general direction of Perth as noticeable on Jo's radar image posted above?  Stayed dry here so far and blue skies remain to our East. Feeling a bit sticky at 15C with a NE breeze.

Luck finally given out this pm with a couple of hours of heavy showers, though no thunder heard.  Last hour brings dramatic clearance to full sunshine.  Southron visitors to Corsewall mightily impressed by week’s weather.

Good growing week with sun showers and humid with sea fog these last few days. Got all seeds in garden at the beginning of the week so should not be long before they are through the ground.

Yesterday was horrible... dull and cold.. log burner was lit at 3pm and used all evening until bed time.. today looks very similar but is meant to brighten up later.. tomorrow looks glorious before horrendous Sunday... summer will be here soon 🤞🤞🤞

Haar much slower to clear than hoped.  Visitors travelled all the way from Rhins to Lochmaben cloudless, only to enter gloom.  Cleared eventually 1300, then increasingly warm with wind dropping.

Day started cool with the usual Permagloom and light winds...

Could contain: Soil, Ground, Land, Nature, Outdoors, Road, Gravel, Field, Scenery

But blessed are the weather gods as the skies actually cleared by 3pm to leave a lovely late afternoon/evening of sunshine.

Temperatures rocketing as a result from the 8c in the morning to 15c by 5pm.

Clear skies allowing things to cool quickly since dusk, already down to 4.3c - first evening this year that you can actually see the midsummer glow in all its glory.

Mixed week with a couple of nice days thrown in (especially Thursday which wasn’t forecast) but overall the gloom and haar has had the balance of conditions. Grey today and doesn’t look like clearing. Sunshine for May is way below average in NE Fife (just 32 hours so far at Leuchars, though I shouldn’t complain as only 19 in Aberdeen). May averages are 210 hours at Leuchars and 202 at Aberdeen.
