Currently 25.4C and sat outside in dappled shade with a drink, to end the working week. High for today was 26.2c, just 0.4C short of the high for the week so far on Tuesday.

Pitch black to the east, some big rumbles of thunder, hoping to finally get some rain

Have tried to change colours on the picture a bit to show a ‘rope’ that formed for a few minutes.

Of course the minute I sit down the cloud bubbles over the Pentlands 🤬

Cleared again and sunny but you can see the clouds building to the South and West

There was a bright flash followed barely a second later by a loud clap of thunder. Other than that some faint flashes and rumbles abs heavy rain which has eased for now. An impressive pink cumulonimbus cloud to the east.

Saw some lightning earlier and lots of thunder. Starting to taper off now, it never inched any further west so the drought continues! Some mammatus starting to show now though.

Even if not a direct hit from that monster cloud today hopefully a sign of things to come for next few days at the very least even if no more storms rain would be very very welcome here

Another great midsummer sunset after a hot humid sunny day that reached 25c. Silage bales all home and stacked some nice strawberries for tea and half neeps scarified. 20230616_225447.thumb.jpg.3b1d778325eb14a8b1ae1aa4dc80ca76.jpg20230616_225436.thumb.jpg.9f9753d4b91a6f53f893d68d54c41427.jpg

Breakdown from the SW proceeding slowly.  Measurable rain currently no further than line Jura to Kirkcudbright.

By far the highest report was Castle Kennedy, which reported dubious steady heavy rain (21mm) over four hours yesterday afternoon.  Site has not reported since, so assumed fault?  So:   Craigenlee Croft (Portpatrick) 5.2mm,     Lagafater Lodge 3.4mm,     Brigton 2.6mm,     Kirriereoch 2.2mm.  Not enough to wet the ground.

No ground truth for areas of echoes NE of this line.        Edit - Correction, spots of rain five minutes later!

Was just south of Strathaven today, nice areas of countryside when you turn off the M74 at Lesmahagow.
Fields still pretty Green with some decent growth, no deep yellow like back home.

There was even a few spots of what the locals were calling ‘rain’. I’m unsure if I knew what it was… not enough to wet the ground.
Cloudy, muggy and at home it’s just over 22c. Rain please arrive.
