A SpaceX Super Heavy booster and Starship launch vehicle will launch on the first fully integrated test flight of the new rocket. The mission will attempt to travel around the world for nearly one full orbit, resulting in a re-entry and splashdown of the Starship near Hawaii. The Super Heavy booster will target a controlled splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico. Delayed from 2022. Launch time: 1200-1430 GMT (8:00-10:30 a.m. EDT; 7:00-9:30 a.m. CDT).

Sorry, yes tomorrow at 1pm for us in the UK. There's a 3hr window with 90 minutes to 'recycle' MOX/LOX should any issues appear on the first attempt. If tomorrow is scrubbed then Tues & Weds are the next opportunities.

And the clock is now counting down.

Live:

Somthing happened on the tower lift early hours:

The sound:

The visual top right (music sorry)

If this works it's going to open a new era to spaceflight.

I think that, with the world being increasingly dominated by stark raving loons, we would all benefit, psychologically at least, from something the entire globe's human population can get behind. 👍

True although given the tediously slow pace of missions and lack of funding it'll be at least another generation before we're making any real progress, moon base, Mars mission etc.

Rubbadub scrub for today, unless a frozen valve rapidly de-freezes within the window. A 48hr LOX/MOX Recycle at the Tank Farm means Weds is the next opportunity but likely Thursday due to weather and '4/20' because Elon Musk.

Watched it launch .. what a sight.
Then it looked like it had blown up ??
Can't gather from the commentary if that is so.

Starship experienced 'rapid, unscheduled disassembly'
LoL  that's one way of saying it exploded !

It was quite the sight to see on the livestream as you just can't fathom how large and powerful Starship+Booster is except for saying that even with a minimum of 6 engines 'out' of 33 the booster still had more thrust than the Saturn V. Word is that stage-sep failed due to hydraulic issues, but at least it's not too many months away from SpaceX attempting the next sub-orbit flight.

Luckily I blew up 20  miles up and not on the launchpad would have  been one of the largest chemical explosions ever recorded certainly equaling a small nuke

What a launch, impressive is a understatement so slow when it drifted off the tower.

Some of the water tanks got dented too, im suprised they were not punctured.

A couple of videos here from the pad, absolute destruction!!

Same area but wide angle and longer. Keep a eye on the silver car on the left (it belongs to the nasa spaceflight site)

Note the left leg on the pad.

No way that it would be hollow with a stairwell there. Thin walls and stairs?  CGI HOAX

If this material was so thin it would have been atomised at launch. Like many other things (as you see on the above launch videos)

The damage to the water tanks can be seen, bottom left also venting from the Pad, still.
