1886 ,The United States Busiest Year For Hurricanes. ......!

The most extreme case scenario for hurricanes was in 1886 when no less than 7 visited the USA. Three hurricanes happened in June which is never heard of now, three made landfall in Texas, four hurricanes were major ,meaning category 3 or more, and there could of been even more out at sea where there was no reliable data at that time. One of the major hurricanes in Texas destroyed Indianola on the south side of Matagarda Bay. At one time there were around 20,000 people in the city,before a prior major hurricane in 1875 did major damage. The only thing in Indianola today is a cemetery with numerous headstones with dates from the infamous major hurricanes of 1875 and 1876.....
