Wettest Place in Snowdonia - Llyn Glaslyn?

All hypothetical, as this could only be detemined if there was a grid pattern of rain gauges installed with correct siting parameters, inspected and read at least once monthly.

Having said all that, I note that Capel Curig (Met Office) records an average of 2697mm (1991-2020).  This site is at relatively low altitude, (216m), and is also east of the watershed, the Afon Llugwy draining eastwards.

I understand that early in the 20th century, there was a rain gauge at Llyn Llydaw copper mine. (source s.burt/p.eden).

It previously held the record monthly rainfall for the British Isles, however their article discounted this.

Makes absolute sense that rainfall totals should be highest close to the highest peak(s) on the side of the main wind direction. Where moist air runs against a mountain range it is forced to rise leading to higher rain intensity. I tend to compare it to throwing or pressing a wet sponge against a wall. Sadly, there is no weather station at the summit of Yr Wyddfa which would undoubtedly produce some eye watering sums.

Cloudy and mild day.  Currently  21c, but feeling a wee cooler under the cloud.  Rather lovely day for gentle pootering, baking bread while listening to Mozart Flute concertos.  Watching  the bees and butterflies on the asters and sedums and deadheading/weeding garden.    What’s not to like.😀
