Would say there’s roughly 6cm so far, radar suggesting a lot more back in Dalwhinnie so will report back total amounts when I’m back at holiday cottage.

I do like the Old Bridge. Jealous!

Back home, it's raining lightly at the moment, 2.8c/0.5c. Colder dew points just to my north (-0.8c at Leuchars).

Looks like the precipitation to our north going to miss us completely now . I give up. If other professions done their work as bad as the Met their would be repercussions.

Dew point still around -1C here and we have light snow falling and covering the ground. Will still take a long time to get a decent covering.
I do like the Auld Bridge too. My cousin used to live just along the road from it and was a handy baby sitter when we went out there for a meal and drink or too on hols back in the day.

Radiosonde measurements updates:

Lerwick

15/2300   Nil

16/1200   Surface  -2.3     850mb  -10.9 and dew point -12.0

Stornoway

Neither received

Albemarle (on border near Corbridge)

15/2300   Surface  -2.7    850mb  -9.3 and dew point  -19.3

16/1100   Surface   0.6    850mb  -5.9 and dew point  -6.5

All of these missing soundings could be having an effect on quality of forecasts?

Yep, models show that moving way east/south east, just the chance of a shower or 2 really so nothing to get excited about.

The models have been all over the place with this one over the last few days, I think Icon probably handled it best initially (I think) and one other model had the snow going south or north of the central belt and splitting.

Hope those in the snow zone are enjoying it!

Moderate snow in westhill now - wasn’t expecting this today. Everything getting a fresh white overcoat 👍

The met and bbc saying another possible 3 hours of this so if it continues in this manner there will be a decent top up for sure. That said - both these organisations have not exactly covered themselves in glory with their forecasts for the central belt going by the comments on here.

Light sleety pish on here now. Total fail from the Met as it was clear from many of the charts yesterday evening that things had changed for the Central Belt 🫣

Flat calm with moderate snow on for the last few hours - pretty tame snowfall rate compared to the showers last few days but still slowly accumulating. Perhaps getting on for an inch of fresh.

I do not accept that this picture actually deserves to be called snow.... this is not a win 😁

Hi all, London day trip and flying back in couple hours hopefully. Aberdeen not too bad? Selfish question!

Looks like it has all been a bit hit/miss!

Chilly and dry down here.

Exeter have changed their wording. Extending version have dropped the winds from the north. Now says from the east.

Interesting I seen your post earlier also
