Cells have entered the east side of the island. Window open hoping for that sweet sound.

Edit: the only sweet sounds so far are our garden Robin and Blackbirds. Not a bad alternative, but we get them every day 😄

ChannelThunder Was doing the same here not long ago while watching some nice looking clouds to the west. Nice sound but as you say there are better sounds I wish I was hearing 😄

All turned into heavy showers that just aren't producing the lightning.

Wonder if the previous showers used the energy.. were decent cells but think many here would have preferred a night display instead.

Still a fair few hours to go, maybe the energy isn't here yet.

The cold seas at this time of the year can suck the life out of storms.

Heavy showers for all but the luckiest overnight.

A repeat of these exact synoptics later in the year when there's more warm air to be sucked into the mid levels from Europe would go down a treat. It's so unusual for the whole lot to be tracking to the NWW like this is doing, and in the summer it'd no doubt give a long lasting show to many as it crawls across.

Heard a faint rumble - I'm struggling to video it as it's at thee only side that my home doesn't have any windows on. Typical. Nevermind, as it strengthens it should hopefully move it's way into my viewing range

Lu. oh really? Lightning radars went crazy for a sec and now they're going crazy at Chichester

As soon as the occlusion actually hit the coast. All I'm saying is that maybe just maybe there's 1 or a couple more shows to be had.

 Thunderspotter

I saw the radar (Blitz) but nothing went boom here at all.

Portchester had 2 lots from a colleague who text me.
Dads over for Easter, half deaf & commented on the rain 😆 definitely no kabooms tho. Most disappointed

Lu. Strange. Thunder this evening is deciding to be very selective! Lets hope this is the beginning.

First flash of the evening, followed by a faint rumble! Got one small issue though - it's very far away! Officially though I'm pretty sure that this is my first storm of the year.

Well, radar shows the IOW is now out of the game, still, a good start to the season this early, as we wouldn't usually have anything like today to talk about for a good few weeks at least!

ChannelThunder I wish that it went boom before it got inland. I recently took over my brother's room as he's now moved out, and I now have a window facing south. So far though it's been no use. Lol

Loud noises are now counted as rumbles for me even if it's quite unlikely that they actually are 😂

WOW! Big strike! Now the neighbours have decided to come outside and scream (they have children, for context!). I'll post the recording here later haha. That was awesome, caught me well off-guard.

Sam jackson88 wow, that's awesome. Wasn't quite as close for me, couple miles at least.

That was a good one. Bright, too!

WOO oh this is great! What a start to the 2024 season! Shame it's moving away, but I'm happy with what I'm seeing so far!
