I can see some very faint elevated lightning from here in Basingstoke. Can't hear any thunder as expected given it's from the cell near Portsmouth, but it feels much closer than that.

Not sure if it’s worth keeping an eye on it as it’s got a while to get to me, but a night storm to kick off the year would be amazing! Hoping to see some cool shots tonight

Steady rain here. Caught up with situation on forum late on. Easter service at church this morning, pigging out chocolate Easter eggs this afternoon.

Not getting hopes up so think I’m going to stop watching radar will just be rain time anything reaches here

Frustrating about my main one earlier today however there was at least some in the SE for the slight and if thst storm in the channel had reached it would have warranted it. However, the area of interest for lightning going further west from the slight worked and got a lot of the strikes in I think. There has been lots of convection in the SE, just something stopping much lightning.

It's moving away very fast, but wow has it been a bright one! I'll share all my footage once I call it quits and edit them to only show the best bits.

My first attempt chasing, I suppose I left it too late in the day to leave. Drove to Royal Tunbridge Wells but I think I should have gone SW towards Southampton. There's always next time!

anddd I think that's a wrap? No more lightning it seems.... Well it's been a good start to the season so far!! Wasn't expecting that!

Right, I'm calling it quits now. Got some great footage, I'll be back in a few hours (or maybe tomorrow) with the footage I got! Good luck to anyone braving it tonight. It seems to have died down now.

Hopefully, the risks are good for tomorrow too. ESSL and some other forecasts are hinting at some isolated storms.

Some impressive vivid lightning and loud thunder earlier while I was out working, and the rain was biblical. Lots of flooding on the roads! Not a bad show for March.
