Much colder today. A real bite in the air again.

So, that would explain all the funny looks I was getting, as I walked (wearing a t-shirt and jeans) around Beccles, this arvo! 😁

shakes her head. I was outside today in joggers and a tee, throwing things into a skip. Didn't feel cold to me at all. Even the wind. In fact it was a nice temperature to work in.

@Dami: I've never, in all my many years, grasped the point of 'feels like' temperatures: to me, 15C with a breeze feels like 15C with a breeze, and not 11C. . . I do get the risks from hypothermia, of course; but that's not the same thing, IMO? 🤔

And now I'm back in Times New Roman! 😁

Was your Bee's [R.I.P.] name Eric by any chance, Dami?

Regards,

Didn't get above 8C today where I am. But suppose I am in the countryside now so no urban heating.

I've planted my new sunburst out now, well sometimes last week, and it's doing well now, or at least better than when I had it indoors, so I expect the SSW will actually do what thead thread wants this time, and brings the cold and snow to kill it off. Normally hardy, but when first settling prefers no frost etc.

20240221_113548.thumb.jpg.3e9ad7c0febfa94697bbcf2a3455219d.jpgIve said this before and its been near on  comfirmed, but its not really se weather related ( in future it might be ) so move blessed if its grief ( not you lol ,the post, dont want you up in north yorkshire or wherever )

THECONVERSATION.COM

To narrow our predictions of global sea level rise, we need to know more about these sudden ‘non-linear’ changes to ice sheets.

I always thought when the vortex is disrupted it more often than not drops a piece of it self in the north atlantic and if its a big chunk it brings storm force southerlys straight into Greenland ,you think it can cope, it cant ,like opposite of us getting a lot of snow out of a north westerly ..just saying it does take a toll and the screen shot is ( gfs week odd away)  is a light version, sometimes its worse than that jim

Confused! Lassie23 had snow for 5 days solid in London (unless she was on hols and teasing) and we have had terrible rain today with lots of surface flooding (just done a 120 mile round trip) and tomorrow is even worse. Why aren't these named storms?

Doesn’t look that bad tomorrow with regard to the wind on the south coast, gusts not forecast to exceed 40mph so not even a proper windy day
