six years ago and one day, we went to pick up our sooty from the rescue, worried if we would get there because of the snow and the house was on a hill...

Today i brought in our shopping still wearing just joggers and a tee, mild enough not to want a cardie again.

I just hope we aren't getting a 40c summer.

Interesting. The wind seems to be swinging round to come more from the south and the worst of the rain might miss E Sussex and Kent today. It's lovely at the moment, so fingers crossed!

Nice to see the BBC website as accurate as always - just last night showing cloudy with sporadic rain and 11c for today, in reality at 11am we have bright spells just the odd spot of rain in the wind and a very warm 15c! Sort of typifies this Winter...

Well on the last day of Winter let us assess what it has brought us.

1 day of falling snow.

0 days laying snow.

The fact that in the past 20 days we have barely moved on 5 full pages on the SE thread is indicative of how poor of a winter it has been. Absolutely forgetable, but generally exactly as the models have called it. We have rarely gotten out of the FI 10 day chart hunting in terms of any real snow or cold coming in.

1/10 as a score, and only because I saw a few flakes fall.

A wet, mild afternoon in Bedfordshire. Yet more rain on bogged, flooded ground.

Really hope we get a hot, dry summer to make up for yet another, Soaked drenched UK winter

My take on this Winter:

December: Other than the first few days more like November, wet, dull and mild. Xmas period in the run up to and to the New Year one of the worst I can remember.

January: Started the same as December (Unsettled) then huffed and puffed with some blocking and a colder/cold for 10 days or so but yet again no snow (11January's running now without). Finished with the same old garbage.

February: Like a Spring month, still rainy, mild basically like a March or early April. Only 1 ground frost.

2.5/10 for me as a Winter, we've experienced worse i.e. 2013/2014 but at least we did have some frosts/cold beginning of December and January.

30 seconds of proper snow falling.

0 days of snow lying (again).

Sadly I wouldn't expect much better next Winter either.

Looking good for snow in the higher parts of our region over the weekend, 20,000 feet asl should do it 👍

Froze were the Days Didn't last though, by 12 it had already clouded over and non stop drizzle. Even if you go for a walk, everywhere here is flooded or saturated

I have been researching foglore today, well for 2 minutes🤓, and fog in February means frost in May

Weather data to be released on Friday will also likely show that this winter was less frosty than normal.

Very windy cold and wet. Currently 4.7 and raining. Does this bit of wind not have a name?

Our chimney is quite precarious and needs to come down (but because the weather has been so bad, the work hasn't been done) and this weather is making me nervous that it will go.
