  1. Well finally heard thunder this year...just need a storm now and that'll do me. Keep me in touch with whats going on your way eh?
  2. Looks quite nasty on radar...keeping a close eye on that one. Got two rumbles (1 close-ish strike) from the shower just passing me.
  3. CG about a mile S/SW of me at 12.57 Rain just starting.
  4. A few heavy showers today, but sadly still waiting for my first rumble of the year never mind first storm. Annnnnnnnnnnnd the wait goes on.....sigh! Our time will come...it surely must.
  5. Spanish Plume? Yes for some it has been good but not for a lot of us. Here though absolutely nothing...not one flash, not one rumble. Crap...about as exciting and eventful as watching paint dry. Pathetic. The almost 3 year wait for a decent storm goes on. Rant over.
  6. Already given up...the sight of that non-electrified moderate muck approaching me has killed off any last remaining hope I had. Ah well...maybe next time. Good luck to everyone else though.
  7. Sferic - lightning strikes in other words...my radio on MW picking up a lot of them.
  8. Picking up a hell of a lot of sferics on MW radio 1400-1600 frequencies....from the storms west of me?
  9. Temp around 21c with the sun out (finally)...dew points at Hawarden a few miles from here at 15c so would think am close to that. Time will tell for all of us though.
  10. How the hell can it be that places to the north of me have blue skies and yet I get stuck under poxy 100% cruddy cloud cover? There aint no justice.
  11. I would be inclined to remove North Wales from the threat area. Not out of negativity or pessimism but purely because it is just too cloudy and cool right now. Looking out right now I'd have to be realistic in assessing the current likelihood as no higher than 0%
  12. Thoroughly wet and feeling quite cool. Almost like an autumn day. 14c
  13. It would have been July 2008 because we got a good hit that night as well. If someone had told me then that we'd be waiting for another one nearly 3 years later I'd never have believed it.
  14. Not what I wanted to hear after missing out last night. When a Spanish Plume fails to deliver its time to start thinking of being stuck in the no storms club for a while yet.
  15. Same here conor....there's a hell of a shield in place for North East Wales and Shropshire...guaranteed humdrum weather. Not missing any sleep over another non-event. Turrning in as well.
  16. Congrats to those leaving the group tonight....I have a hunch I won't be joining them though.
  17. Miss out tonight and tomorrow and I will throw one major tantrum And then I will move to Florida ! Worst of all we haven't even had much rain at all for my poor parched, cracked and browning 2 acre field
  18. No wonder I'm missing out again then...too close to Shropshire!
  19. Nothing here at all as of yet other than some rain.....oh let me out of the no-storms club please!
  20. I like the question that Shane asks. What indeed is a thunderstorm? Some places such as Telford and here seem to have an unbreakable storm shield.
  21. Chances for yours truly of escaping the no-storms club today don't look good, what with all the action looking likely to be further east (now where have I heard that before?) and having missed out completely yesterday. We had a few spots of very light rain yesterday and that ladies and germs was it.
  22. Slap on the wrist for the Met Office is in order I think. Storm force gusts of wind in North Wales today but all they could issue was an advisory? Yet when a dusting of snow the equivalent of an icing sugar dusting is due they cant get the warnings out quick enough!
  23. It has surprised me somewhat that the Met Office has talked of the winds in Scotland and for Northern England and yet has referred to the conditions in Wales as nothing worse than "blustery"! I don't know what its been like in the rest of Wales but here in the North its been pretty wild and is continuing to be.
  24. 90 mph gust at Lake Vyrnwy according to xcweather.co.uk
