Sucks doesnt it? Especially when you get the media ramming the fact that such and such a place has been buried under a bloody foot of snow etc... To be honest I reckon the breakdown (when it comes) will deliver more in the way of snow (albeit short-lived) than this "cold spell" has.

Naff all here either....just a pathetic icy half melted patchy mess which doesnt barely add up to much more than a millimetre. Cold spell? My ARSENAL!

Had enough of the snow? Want to look at green grass and the odd half melted icy puddle? Then come to Wrexham...the snow desert of North Wales and all your dreams will be made a reality! <_<

Well...that's it...I've officially had it with this "cold spell" that has miserably failed to deliver yet again...what have we had? A few flakes of snow followed by sleety garbage which will inevitably at some point tediously freeze into deadly ice. Roll on the breakdown I say...I should think that would deliver more snow than this joke of a cold spell has! *RANT OVER*

Here here....rain followed by sub zero temps which result in sheet ice everywhere does not appeal one bit thank you very much. Still waiting for a remotely decent snow cover here.

I for one am hoping that none of this precipitation falls as rain for anyone...for the simple reason that it would result in sheer chaos and possible carnage once it re-froze before tomorrow morning. Frankly I am getting pretty much sick to the back teeth with rain followed by sub zero temps and sheet ice having already experienced the results more than once since before Christmas. As for the Met O's latest warnings...yes I'll credit them issuing them for icy roads...good call...BUT! Issuing warnings for 1-3cms of snow???? Utter nonsense!

Just had a look outside and surprise surprise...sleety rubbish...again!!!! This "cold spell" has frankly up to now been utter garbage for snow, at least for me, maybe some of you other guys have been luckier. Am getting seriously fed up of rain followed by freezing temperatures which make surfaces like deadly ice rinks! Some snow pur-lease!!!!!!

Horrible horrible hateful day. Cold and thoroughly wet. The rain just keeps on coming...fields around me are soggy and increasingly waterlogged...ignore the temperature and it could easily be one of those nasty wet November days. Ugh! Pass me the valium someone.

Steady rain here. Already heard a number of people asking this morning where the snow that was forecast is. Of more concern is also hearing from the same people what I was fearing last night....hearing comments such as "those warnings dished out are a sack of ****" "I'll take no notice next time" etc etc

No one is arguing that with you,yes the warnings are meant to protect the public but when the public hear warnings of snow depths of 10-15cm widely...disruption to transport and power supplies etc...and it doesnt happen, they tend to start adopting an attitute of "yeah yeah... heard it all before and nothing happened" to such warnings....bit like cry wolf I suppose.

No way in a million years anyone living on lower ground in Wales is going to get anywhere near 10cm...very bad call from the Met Office. Back covering exercise from them without a shadow of a doubt. Trouble is...come the day when a major widespread snow event does come off (stop sniggering at the back there!) people will get caught out because they'll hear the warnings and ignore them because they've heard it all before and seen nothing to justify said warnings.

How typical...someone up there must have been watching me typing my previous post as the sleet has suddenly turned to snow and is trying its damndest to settle!

Total non event here...hours of sleet...yah boo sucks with knobs on Met Office...big fat raspberry coming your way...where's the 10-15cms you guys said we'd have? Sorry boys...hours of sleety rain doesnt cut it. Maybe next time eh?

Moderate sleet/very wet snow falling here. It's gonna be lethal when it freezes later. Annoying? Yup! Not as annoying as it'll no doubt be later on when this lot reaches the sodding south east and gives them more snow!!!!

26 hours of continuous rain here along with a cold blustery north wind...ahh well shouldnt complain...pretty much whats expected in November. Eh? Wassat? Whaddya mean its Summer?

I hereby solemnly swear that I (Carl43Wrexham) have not witnessed a single storm so far this year in 2009. And that if a storm decides to show up and surprise me I will be more then happy to resign my membership and notify the NSC immediately.

Ohhhh...revenge will come....I forsee a winter of frequent NW'lys and the western side of the UK being pummelled repeatedly by snow showers...while those over in the east who've had storm after storm...seeing not so much as a flake...hoooooo haa haaaarrrr :lol: :lol:

So much for the phrase "west is best"!!!! For storms the west of the UK this summer has been utterly diabolical with the eastern side practically hogging everything. It's really starting to become tedious now!

NO!!!! You're not having any help...this is your punishment for hogging all the storms.... Bring on that huge hail baybeh!!! HA HA HA HA HA

Cant believe you missed out then on the storms of July 29th (?) last year....we had 4 of them in the space of a few hours, was a damn good night that watching them drifting up from the North West Midlands...since then besides a woefully weak storm in April...absolutely nowt other than a couple of rumbles.

It has to be said that some areas are getting a good deal more than their fair share of storms of late. Just makes it all the more galling for those of us who miss out.......and miss out....and miss out
