  1. Serious question : This lot currently crossing the channel looks pretty intense...why no warnings? And why are the old warnings for parts of Wales and the SW re : thundery rain still in place? I am not having a dig at the Met Office but I do think these questions deserve answers
  2. As you are undoubtedly referring to me, might I point out that I am not merely referring to todays inaccurate forecast but also to the numerous inaccurate warnings they put out over the past several days. Oh and kindly keep the "pathetic" remarks to yourself!!!!!
  3.   EDIT : Let it be said I am not moaning about this fairy cake of a cold front...Im extracting the urine from it...course in a few hours there'll be nothing left to extract from it!
  4. I did the 3 hour forecast run on meteox..and surprise surprise...cold front barely moves....wakey wakey Met Office...you've dropped a clanger on this one.
  5. Aye...push it back into the Atlantic and give it a boot up the Arsenal as a parting gift!
  6. Ladies and Gennelmen...I give you...the James May of cold fronts....painfully slow and hasnt got a clue where its going.
  7. And the headstone will read "IT HUNG AROUND A BIT!!!!!!!!!"
  8. A service of remembrance will take place at 9am tomorrow morning when the cold front finally expires. Current estimates place it approximately 3 miles* east of its current position at that time. The timing is subject to change as it is of course possible the front may perish sooner than that. * Optimistic estimate...this may vary by at least 100 yards.
  9. The rate that thing is moving or rather not moving as far as west to east progress is concerned I would not be surprised if its hot somewhat further west as well....its dying a death in situ. Come on now cold front get a move on...you're making the Met Office guys look like idiots...oops what am I saying they did that themselves by making nonsensical predictions about severe storms
  10. I hereby confidently predict the cold front will - at its present rate of progress - clear the UK around about OCTOBER.
  11. Someone go put that wimpy cold front out of its misery please....poor thing's just sitting there dying a death...better still shove the damn thing back west again!
  12. I reckon they're all standing around with their eyes closed with their fingers in their ears and they're all shouting "the cold front will move east....the cold front will move east" I dont think they have a clue in all honesty...the truth is staring them in the face but they wont accept it...and yet they're quite happy to spout ridiculous hype about "severe storms" 5 days in advance
  13. I must confess to being curious as to why we dont seem to get genuine Spanish plumes anymore...the ones which I so fondly remember delivering big (and I mean big) night time thunderstorms to large parts of the country?
  14. As for what GFS charts might show from now on...after several days of seeing charts showing 1500j + of CAPE and LI of -5 and -6 over a large part of the UK...and naff all come of it except for the lucky few...next time I see such charts..one word will enter my head then emerge from my mouth........BALLS.
  15. 4 more than me Bud...believe it or not you've been one of the lucky ones.
  16. I really cant see that front making the progress the Met Office seems to think it will make...it's barely moved eastward all day....their handling of this situation has been complete and utter gash today.
  17. This time last week I'd have certainly been one to have gotten my hopes up....now though, after having my hopes crushed time after time....not a chance....from now on scathing scepticism rules.
  18. Still in the no storms club...and judging by this absolute joke of a breakdown it looks certain I will be a member for some time to come. Sod off naff breakdown...and sod off Met Office for all your wildly inaccurate pathetic weather warnings.
  19. Still a long way to the west of us...contrary to what the MetO were saying would be the case earlier on today. The front looks like its weakening and thinning out anyways...so personally I'd say expect nothing more exciting than spots of rain. A breakdown then with all the potency of a 7 stone weakling whose been out in the rain....pathetic! All this stifling humidity and heat and for what? A breakdown about as good as a sack of 3 year old horse manure!
  20. Hmmmmf...the same MetO that gave duff warnings for days on end..!!!
  21. Had they added something along the lines of "confidence is low at this stage so its something we'll be keeping an eye on as the week progresses" then maybe they (the meto) would not be leaving themselves open to getting a kicking. As for some places having received strong thunderstorms, yes that is correct, but it is also a fact that a hell of a lot of places have seen little if anything.
