The link below has a experimental snow depth, snow risk & precip type (gfs) covering uk and Ireland, hope that helps you out.
Experimental is right! I have snow cover already according to that...
-
I seem to be in the coldest place in Wales.
-6.2c currently! I was expecting around -10c in my guide so that's working out nicely.
I was expecting to get close to -10c tonight after breaking the -7c mark last night. This pesky cloud has put paid to that! All the forecasts I've seen have talked of clear skies grr
-
Temperature here is static due to cloud cover: -0.9c
-
Coldest weather of the winter here (unsurprisingly!)
Min last night: -7.1c
Max today: 0.1c
Current temp: -0.7c and cloudy.
-
Trying not to get excited about the prospect of snow after being disappointed last weekend... The outlook from the met office suggests there will be snow on high ground in Wales into next week - we'll see!
Last night was a very cold one, the min here was -7.1c Max today of 0.1c
Current temp: -0.7c with a lot of cloud.
-
The temperature has been dropping at a rate of 0.5c per hour, if that keeps up it's gonna be an impressive low by dawn!
Current temp: -5.3c
-
My record low temperature for this winter has just been broken.
-4.8c wondering how low it will go? Derek thought -8c was possible in Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant, about 10 miles from here.
-
Cold clear and frosty after a sunny day although it was cloudy overnight and first thing this morning, which stopped the temperature from dropping too much.
Min last night: -2.2c
Max today: 1.1c
Current temp: -4.4c
-
Given the fact that warm fronts generally produce light precipitation, the fact that the pressure is high and the general disappointment of last weekend I'm not expecting much even if the cold wins out in Wales... Positive or what? Ha!
Current temp: -4.2c looks like this winter's record of -4.7c will be broken soon
-
Well, snow or no snow it's good to have some cold this winter. Yesterday was the coldest day of the winter here with a max of 0.7c. Only -2.2c last night though with all the cloud around. Expecting a very cold night tonight though, it's already -3.3c
-
Clear and cold here. There's a dusting of snow on the tops above the Horseshoe Pass and the very top of Moel Famau. There seems to be a better covering on the hills to the south and west of here.
Max today: 2c
Current temp: -1.9c

Sleet seems to have stopped here now. I'm too far to the north and east this time round Temp falling slowly, 2c
-
2.3c here after a max of 2.6c so far. Very light sleet
-
Just spotted a few flakes. Shock horror after the phantom ppn all day!

Does anyone know the mean height of Snowdonia national park?
I'm on my way there right now, hoping to see some of the wintry stuff above about 150m before turning to snow at all levels later on tonight.
Cheers.
Most of the roads in Snowdonia are in the valleys and hence not that high. Best bet would be to go up to Capel Curig (about 200m) and from there up to Pen-y-pass (360m)
-
Wow, really?
No idea what's going on here. The radar is still showing moderate precipitation over your area right now.
It's not really fine drizzle is it?
Same here in north Wales - been sat under ppn for hours but it's bone dry. Drove into the middle of north Wales thinking it was because I was on the edge of it, but I didn't see a single flake or drop.
-
Which areas are actually seeing ppn fall and which areas are suffering from 'phantom' ppn? According to the radar most of Wales should be seeing something but I haven't seen a single flake or drop yet!
-
Met Office warning now has me just outside the yellow zone

Anyone in the Llangollen area or Snowdonia area tell me if there is any snow around?
Heading into Wales today.
Thanks
I've been for a drive from the Ceiriog Valley through Chirk and up the A5 through Llangollen, Corwen and up to Cerrigydrudion - not a flake of snow or drop of rain falling despite what the radar says. Caught a glimpse of the mountains in Snowdonia looking very white through the mist, also the mountains towards Bala.
Temp here is now 2.6c
-
Can't cope with waiting anymore, going for a drive further west to see if there's anything going on! Temp 1.1c
-
STILL dry here despite the radar showing ppn in the area. Officially impatient now! Temp 0.8c
-
Radar says the edge of the band arrived here 15 mins ago but there's nothing falling from the sky yet. Temp gone down slightly to 0.4c
-
Morning all, the precipitation looks to be pretty much on my door step now. Temp is 0.5c

Temperatures look to be dropping to the north and east of me so hopefully this cloud is beginning to shift. -1.1c here.
